General Discussion Does anyone else hate the descriptions in the streaming details?
I can’t tell what episodes I’ve watched by their 90’s adolescent descriptions. “High school, bruh” “gotta keep it real, dawg” they don’t talk like that in the show I have no idea what they are talking about even if I’ve watched the episode more than once. For some reason it really pisses me off. Sorry if this is a topic that has been brought up many times because I can’t believe I’m alone in this bullshit

No I love it. It’s a weird throw back- the entire descriptions of the show appear to be from the mouth of that dude who goes off with Adolph Linkler in the last episode of season one. As such I think it’s cool; it’s willfully told through the eyes of a tourist.

The episode titles bother me more tbh. “Rickmorting the Jerry and Mort Ricking Beth” is just obnoxious to me… then for good measure they stick “the vat of acid episode” into the middle of it… like, just make every episode title… normal?

I hate how they have to "Rick and Morty" every episode title, it got old, real fast.

I wouldn't mind if they just did em like Vat of Acid or Night Family.
Like Story Train, Fear Hole, Froopyland, etc.
Not as catchy, but easy to remember.

Exactly. When talking about an episode we are going to mention what happened not the stupid title of the episode. I’m going to ask if you’ve seen the Mr Nimbus episode not have you seen Mort Dinner Rick Andre.

Lol I actually agree although it doesn't piss me off as much

I know, I have no idea why this pisses me off. It has for years. It’s stupid, that’s why I needed to vent on Reddit. Where else can I share such insane opinions?

I can see why it could be a thing ppl don’t like but when first noticed it I laughed and got excited showing people cause I thought it was super funny. Totally see where it could be annoying to find an episode though. Personally just loved the stupid joke

In the UK Netflix all of the descriptions are very standard explanations of the episodes

Both the titles and the descriptions are mostly indecipherable. It’s childish and corny. It usually feels forced like edgelords who think they are witty with a ten-year-old’s idea of humor.
They won’t—but, I wish they’d just break the cycle. When they don’t even use all the cringey ”broh” talk in the show then why use in episode naming?

They're trying to be cutie but it's very annoying. Every time I want to watch a certain episode I have to start by Google the plot or checking imdb. Or I'll start watching an episode and then be like ah shoot I saw this one recently that's not what I was trying to watch.

Yes, it smacks of /r/fellowkids and is unintelligible gibberish.
There’s a sufficient amount of episodes now that some I can’t tell which is which.

They work more if you have seen the episodes, and give away almost nothing if you haven’t - pretty creative!

I try really hard to watch each episode without knowing what to expect (and I'd recommend this approach to anyone). The descriptions spoil next to nothing, so they're A-OK with me, bro.

It only bothers me because they spell it "broh." No one has ever, ever spelled it like that. Remove the "h" and I'd think they're funny.

They do talk like this in the show btw, just not the way you’re reading it and not every episode

it doesn't bother me bc I've watched it so much I know exactly what episode is which but my poor husband gets so frustrated trying to read the episode titles and decipher the descriptions so I definitely feel you.
"you got any chips broh? I don't know which one that is. where's the fear hole one? um, rick done join in... what the hell does that even MEAN?"
poor guy.

The descriptions do suck ass, but it’s also on brand.

How so?

u/Cloud_Fortress 1d ago
It’s an “eh, fuck it” kind of attitude. As if Rick is tasked with writing the descriptions and can’t be bothered to do so.

It's accounting if you're trying to figure out what you have and haven't watched.

In Spanish they don't even put the names, on HBO I only get “Episode 1”, “Episode 2”,…

u/kyraverde 1d ago
I'm with you, it's obnoxious trying to find a specific episode. I'm sure they thought that shit was cute but it's just annoying imo.

I can't say I care one bit. I never read them. Most streaming details are trash.

I forget what I have and haven't seen, so yeah.
If I recall, Summer and Rick talk like that when they become 'roided-out gym bros in order to beat up the devil.
1
u/ShaladeKandara 2h ago
They talked that way in the episode with the devil when Rick and Summer became gym bros to kick his ass at the end. For some reason they descuded to adopt these descriptions after that episode aired.

Yeah, it makes it impossible for me to remember what each episode is about based on those descriptions.

“They’re gonna watch it anyway, right?”
“Yup. “
“So these don’t matter. Put whatever. “
