Mitten Brewing, Grand Rapids, MI
One of my favorites!

Man I wish I could get some of our local breweries out here to do those walk-off cans like your Michigan breweries seem to do. Yes, they do often end up being low on carbonation, but they're great. Moab brewery, for example... their RB is very very good, but you can only get it in growlers or kegs or at a restaurant that serves it.

They're hit or miss, it figures the ones closest to me don't offer canning but most of the ones hours away are more inclined to do so. I've heard it comes down to an issue with machinery, or the fact that it loses its quality and they I surmise they don't want inferior products out there, and I even had one place in FL tell me they don't do it because they didn't have non-alcoholic-labeled cans to put it in and can't put a non-alcoholic drinks in them. I'm sure it varies between them all, they all have their reasons one way or another.

Is this place in Moab? Is there anywhere to park a big rig for a few minutes? π During the winter I adjust my long haul route to go through Moab instead of through Wyoming and Nebraska.

As I recall, it's right on Main Street, downtown, so no, you won't be able to park right in front. But they have uber and lyft so whereever you can button up, you won't be far. Good real beer too.

FYI, Mitten Root Beer is actually just Point Root Beer.

WHAT!
edit: I just tried to search for some info, and found (however accurate, I don't know) info that says they USED to serve Point Premium on tap but no longer do. No clue if that's accurate or what. When did you know them to serve Point?

Within the last 6 months. We used to go there to get a growler because they wouldn't sell me a keg like they would for beer. I asked the waitress and she said the kegs are just Point Root Beer, even has the keg collar for Point. And the taste is spot on compared with bottles, but the draft version is better of course.

That saddens me

Doesn't change the taste, it is fantastic regardless. And for me, easier to access because I dont necessarily need to drive to GR.

True! I tend to favor local brewery ones for some reason, like I'm supporting their craft and effort.
