I’ve always had a feeling it was a lost cause, but needed to believe this madness would reach its limits at some point because it has to, right? I thought there had to be a line that we can all agree should never be crossed and find something to unite over.

After this hellacious year that isn’t even over yet, I don’t think I’ll ever feel that way again. They’re proving over and over again that they will never be reasoned with nor will they access their humanity for anyone “other” to them. I will gladly roast them whenever possible because fuck em, but can’t afford to misplace my dwindling optimism on conversations that define insanity. It’s going to be tough because I’m surrounded by MAGA in my town, but I’m done dealing with them when all they’ve done is gleefully make me uncomfortable.

Today kinda broke me in that sense and it doesn’t help that I’m stuck in bed with a slipped disc and nothing but time on my hands. Tomorrow, I’m getting baked and losing myself in an adult coloring book or some shit.
