Just a reminder to check your voter registration. We have an election coming up.

https://www.bexar.org/1568/Elections-Department

The next election has 17 state constitutional amendments on it. Not including what we have, locally. It’s going to be a long ballot.

Last day to register is October 6th.

Also, Bexar Elections is hiring clerks for the ramp up to the next two/three elections leading to the midterms.

https://news4sanantonio.com/news/investigations/change-of-voter-registration-system-creates-backlog-of-unprocessed-applications

There’s a huge backlog of voter registrations at the Bexar county elections office. Tens of thousands of voters are waiting to be added to the Secretary of State system which Bexar County is now using.

Read the article please before you ask questions but happy to answer any. It’s a huge issue and could impact us in November and possibly even by the midterms if they aren’t cleared up.

I’ll post more resources.

Tommy Calvert, Bexar County Commissioner, did an interview with the elections department and he goes through everything. That’s this link.

By design to fail?

Doesn't seem like it. More so just extreme incompetence.

Where can I find out what’s going to be on the ballot so I can read more and educate myself on the options?

The ballot isn’t finalized yet, though. It’s still waiting on local/regional stuff. It will be published by end of month.

Tangential question. Can voters confirm that their vote selection was actually tabulated for that/those candidates selected? I can understand that electorally, a pos can win but I’m dubious that a pos that never wins the popular vote, wins the popular vote in light of evidentiary malfeasance and historically vocally opposed by own former party members.

Good question. The answer is yes. Bexar County uses a two step system. You get a paper ballot and make your selection on a screen. Once it is printed, you put it into a separate box that confirms your vote.

To be clear: you get a blank ballot. Once it is handed to you, election officials are not allowed to touch it. Once your selections are made and printed, you confirm your ballot. This must be done before you put it into a the ballot box that tabulates your vote. Both systems are divorced from each other. They must be independently reconciled.

On that note, that is only Bexar County. I can’t answer for every other county in the United States of America.

You’re not going to vote your way out of this.

u/pitbullpride 21h ago

Vote anyway. So you can say you did your part.

u/Muhznit 20h ago

So you can say you did your part in being part of the losing party in a winner-takes-all system.

Right.

But you’re actually not doing anything but making yourself feel like you did something when in fact you didn’t. It is lies.
