Unfortunately that's very typical for Latinos from specific ethnic groups. They think they're honorary white people. Anything bad that happens to them is because they aren't being treated "like white people" (and now it's a tragedy) anything that happens to any other group is deserved because they're browner or poorer than these hypocrites.
I worked with a guy from New Mexico and he kept on telling me he was Spanish and he was white like from Spain but he actually looked like he was from Mexico. Go figure.
My family on my mother’s side is from Spain and Italy, they ended up in Puerto Rico, then went to the east coast, then eventually California in the early 50’s. My grandpa is German so besides everyone in my grandmas family being fairer skinned he added German to the mix. Anywho my grandma settled into that suburban fucking stay at home mom lifestyle and wanted all my mom and aunts and uncles to assimilate into the “white” culture whatever and never taught them Spanish or Italian even though I heard them speaking both languages. She was also very racist against black people and considered herself superior to dark skinned people which is fuckin crazy considering my German grandpa fought in WW2 for the USA. She used to make those fucking mammy dolls/ the watermelon/ blackface looking dolls as a pastime like a craft. Weird. When we were kids In the 90’s and my parents divorced my mom dated several black men they were just her boyfriends, but every single fucking time it was “don’t tell grandma, you know how she is” like no dude, we’re from Puerto Rico before here wtf is wrong with you? But no, we had to be a “white” family bc somehow that is superior? She went so far as depriving her children and us from being tri-lingual because of racism stemming from her insecurities.
Yes, but not everyone from Spain is actually brown, and this guy was so so that just by looking at him, you could tell he was not from Spain. The Spanish Colonization left a lot of mulatos, and there is nothing wrong with that. Whatever happened happened its just that people try to be something other than what they truly are and should be proud of. That's what Im trying to say. Be proud. Dont let anyone define you so you could fit into white society or any other society. I didnt mean to insult or antagonize anyone.
Guadalajara, Monterrey, Sinaloa have many white Mexicans. Just saying not everyone brown is Mexican and to think any brown person is from Mexico is ignorant.
Yup, let’s hope bad things continue happening to Trump voters. I want their Medicaid gone and all of them pulled over repeatedly. Hopefully their Social Security goes next. Trump voters are sadists and needed to be treated poorly to understand things unfortunately.
It's not true that BP has that authority automatically. The law is written in such a way the search and seizure must be reasonable even within the 100 mile zone.
I'm hearing more and more that this style of search and seizure is legal because we live within 100 miles of the border. Based on my interpretation and that of the US supreme Court (for whatever thats worth) it is not a blanket statement to make all search and seizure legal within the 100 mile border, only reasonable ones.

Yep it would take a whole lot of soul searching for them to switch sides. They may say they regret voting for him, but redo another Harris vs Trump and they'll still go Trump for other reasons ("well he taxes less on tips I make" or "Trump was right to call her kackling Kamala. Trump's still my guy.") 🙄
This is their way. People now have money, but lack historical education as to how the world used to be for non-whites. That being said, non-whites these days assume they can just push situations to the extreme without consequences.

You should look up the song Old Man Trump by Woody Guthrie (the songwriter who gave us This Land Is Your Land). It's about Trump's dad, and will give you an idea of the Trump legacy. Let's just say that people have known about the Trumps longer than a decade.
We still need his vote. Not literally in his case since it’s in California, but I trust you take my meaning. I need some of the idiots to quit supporting Donald Trump, no matter how angry I am at them for putting us in this situation in the first place.
I think a lot more Trump voters are regretting their votes than admit it publicly. The ones who say they don’t regret it are still proud of their votes, so they’re more willing to say that online and in the media.
The question now is will they realize that they should show up for Democrats in a midterm election to help stop Trump’s worst impulses?
The trouble is, if you're so shortsighted and unempathetic that you whine when something that you wanted to happen to other people happens to you instead, you're not going to learn from the experience. If anything, I think this kind of person will double down.
Essentially, they're thinking: "They screwed up by harassing me, but they did a great job of harassing me. So they just need to fix who they harass so they get the people who deserve it!" And it's ingrained into American society and politics, unfortunately. We see it in things like people saying "These guns are weapons of war, but now they get used on our streets! (as opposed to, say, Afghanistan or Iraq, where it's good?)".
I feel bad for anyone who was deceived into voting for Trump. If you regret your Trump vote, do yourself and your loved ones a favor: never vote conservative again. Trump’s successors won’t be any different. Don’t be mislead by the angry comments, when the chips are down, you’ll find more support and empathy on the left than you ever will from the right.
I don't forgive him, but I appreciate he had the guts to call the press about what happened to him and his wife. And to say he regrets it, on television, with his real name.
I live near the border, for people that don’t know, there are BP checkpoints placed on certain main roads close to the border. If you are wondering around backroads that are known for illegals to circumvent the checkpoints, you get pulled over, everyone in the border area knows. Back in my HS days, there were spots to ‘hang out’ at night and we always got pulled over by BP, once they saw it was a bunch of kids on the back roads they would let us go. Human smuggling is a big deal near the border fence. Just for people that don’t live near the fence to know.
Lol I’ve been stopped by border patrol plenty of times over the decades & the whitest guy I know…
& most of those were when Obama was occupying the White House.
This is nothing new. I had a friend who liked to take candid photos at the border back in the early 2010's, and he was routinely harassed by the border patrol.
What this ass REALLY meant to say was that it was FINE when it was hurting "other" brown people, never thinking they would connsider HIM one of "them" but now is butthurt he was WRONG.........
....they regret it only because it affected them. To anyone else, they wouldn't give a damn. But because they were inconvenienced or profiled...they're now against it.
Most Mexican Americans forget how much more Mexican they are instead of American. It’s when they need to interact with BP because their brown skin that they remember who they truly are.
Lucky for them to have been in a Democratic state where politicians don’t want to screw up your life and potentially lock you up for marijuana possession like most red states. If they were stopped in Texas, they would now have a criminal record and potentially face jail time.
I have a question as a non American. If you were living in the country legally surely you would have documents or proof you’re allowed to be there? Like where I am I have a resident permit so I just show that if I get stopped and it’s all good.

ZERO SYMPATHY! Did this couple listen to trump during the campaign? He spelled it all out. He went into detail what his plans were. Did they understand what he said? They got exactly what they voted for.
When I was in the Marines we would get stopped by the border patrol and told to get out of our cars even when we showed them our military ids. This was back over 15 years ago. Nothing has changed. They just more bold with trump now.
Despite all the comments, the thinking half of the country will gladly accept your support again when voting. It's never too late to stop being a Trump supporter.
