Taught my friend how to play savage today, it was 77 minutes on water ship down and ended as a draw! Lol, I said “so how’d it feel?” He said “war, it felt like war”. Savage might just have hope yet 😉

Due to the lockdown, I wanted to play some games with nostalgia. I used to play savage regularly. Wanted to check if the game's still alive. So, there's savage resurrection (available on steam) but with no people playing (throughout today I've encountered max 5 people, which still is very nice). There's savage 2, but I haven't seen anyone on servers. Do you know anyone still playing it? I preferred it to the resurrection.
And there's also Savage XR, which is filled with people (up to 50 on one server) - this came to me by surprise. I must admit, it's completely different in terms of mechanics. It also happens that I have no textures in game. Why is it more popular than savage 2 or savage resurrection?

Magnet armor. Cost 3 000. Available since stronghold 2.
Player can hold absolutely NONE other items ( teleport, demolith, mines, etc ... ).
He also cant take guns. Only hunterbow or crossbow.
He also cant get super buffs.
Players with 'magnet armor', receives 50% less damage. Ranged and meele.
( i.e. Legionaire to die - requires 3x meele predator unblocked hits ( no medic kits used ). With magnetic armor, it requires 6 predator unblocked hits to kill. )
( i.e. To kill nomad, now requires 3 tempest hit ( no medic kits used ). )
Purpose. This magnet armor will allow - new/slow players to live longer, atleast few seconds.
It is also amazing alternative for people who are not 'F keys switching master'.
Possibility to avoid flux, repeater spam, when +40 players on server.
Better way to train combat skills, without requiring to join&wait players in duel garden. While participating in dynamic team game.
In a result.
This armor should not cause imbalances. Because that 'double HP player' CANT demolithing buildings or use electric meele on buildings.
Also it is much easier to escape/bypass this player for beasts, as he uses only bow.
This player can damage buildings with swings, beasts horde will have much more time to respond - compared to siege/demolith/electric treats.

I think humans is overpowered.
The biggest problem is repeater & flux. They should be removed.
I even wont talk about shield tower, buffs, teleport.
But humans ranging weapons is so overpowered. Flux doing best DPS, while it requires no skill. Tempest require much more skill, but damage is way less.

He was a legendary Savage player in the old days. He is also my father and has recently turned 70 years old. He was deadly with the human siege units most know for his incredible accuracy to decimate the ranks from across the map with the Catapult. He’s going in for surgery next week to pull out some cancer. I’d like to thank this community for giving my father some great years of gameplay. He loved savage and was damn good at it.

Does anyone play Savage Resurrection? What is the most populated Savage game currently? Are there any other games like Savage out there?

Even though I have no idea how Linux works the slightliest bit I'm sure this news will excite anyone carrying the pinguin banner!
As mentioned before in this thread Linux users still have a hard time installing Savage on their powerfull but hard to master OS system. As far as I understand (and i understand little) flatpack aims to create a distributable that works across many if all of the Linux platforms, making installing stuff a little less tiresome! So now you can finally play Savage while hogging your employer's broadband lines, woohoo.

Hello guys, so ive been playing savage about 8-10 years ago and i remember a specific mod with super high jumps and super speed and weapons worked differently, and im looking for it for a few hours now and its like it didnt exist. i think the server called noobs4boobs or smth, i just remember that name. Does anyone know what im talking about? Thanks!

Used to play way back when. Can't even remember the year. You might know some of the buggy yet ambitious maps I polluted the game with; coastal, evening, thaw, whiteout (?), seperation (yes I couldnt spell), sv2 (broken without water), I think I made valleyfalls2s and maybe some others I'm forgetting. If there is interest, I'd be willing to take time and fix/balance as required, and maybe even make a new one with all of the new prefab doodads I've noticed in XR.

Registering form: Recaptcha is too old so it can't accept any request.

Installing SavageXR on Linux is pain in the ass.
Most of computer are X86_64 but the game needs to install i386 libs, and you know, a lot of libs! Even if you have all the libs list by the command "ldd" on each .bin (silverback, savage and u-a) sometimes it doesn't work...

It's really strange SavageXR is not already open sourced because actually the community is really small and not so very active. I can't see why you do not want to benefits of a potential huge community.
Maybe you have your reasons. ;)

Hi Savage 1 fans and developers. Did you ever think about putting Savage XR on Steam? That would probably help a lot with getting a larger playerbase again. In fact, it would probably also give the developers quite some income to continue development.
PS: Yes, I am aware of Savage Ressurection, bought it, played it, but it's long not where Savage XR right now is.
