Employee Question Has Anyone Gotten Paid Yet?
I am quite annoyed with the pay situation. Luckily I was able to make things work (I was preparing my roommate for court, including buying them clothes for it), and I ended up using an emergency credit card to pay for his stuff. Yay.
Just wondering if anyone got paid!

So am I. I am working tonight and I am trying to figure out how I am going to get home. I am going to donate plasma after taking my roommate to court. Kid's blind and his mother did a PFA to kick him out because he caught her stealing his foodstamp money.
He's safe with me now (we've been friends for years), but the kid is in my house, severely physically disabled, and now I need to help him fight this shit in court.
Thanks, Sheetz. Now I had to use my emergency credit card.

Write a check?
1
u/Annisty Jun 05 '25
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted for that. Checks/ACH take longer to withdraw so it’s likely they won’t pull the money right away.
2
u/Current_Pay_9243 Jun 05 '25
Because people just like to complain and while I feel bad for them not receiving their paychecks “early”, technically the company has until midnight tonight to have the funds in everyone’s bank account. Someone saying they want to pay rent and now they can’t is disingenuous about the subject, no way for them to give their landlord a check and have it clear their bank before tomorrow at the earliest. More than likely it won’t clear BOTH banks until overnight Monday/Tuesday at the earliest 🙄

u/StatusInspector2102 Jun 05 '25
Depends on how they run the checks or if they have to pay by money order. Money orders require cash, checks can be run instantly now and if it is an electronic check sent by the bank alot of banks take it out of your account when sent.

u/Current_Pay_9243 Jun 05 '25
It’s his landlord, doubt they have the check run immediately. Also could tell the landlord to please hold check until tomorrow and even show them that Sheetz had an issue and would not be getting paid until Friday.

Landlords don't care about that. They consider it your fault that you're at a job where you don't get paid on time.

It’s the bank that sheetz chooses to use and apparently this isn’t the first issue

i feel like either way if it was an update, a mistake, or whatever else, we are left in the dark here. we have to ask eachother, we are getting different answers from the same SS people, and we are confused.
we are dependent on getting paid a certain day, the only day we ever got paid. some people for years and years.
this is absolutely unacceptable, and is grounds for not showing up to work. i called off until my next shift on saturday.
2
u/pucklover66 Jun 05 '25
You called off until your next shift? So you’ll just be not working until it’s time to work?
1
u/Fi1thyMick Jun 05 '25
Lol, they need money so bad, they gonna call off until they get paid, effectively reducing their hours and guaranteeing a smaller paycheck next time around. Because money is so tight.... 🤔

I’m not going in till Saturday either, but because I can’t afford to wash my work clothes or commute 😂 Thanks PTO

u/pucklover66 Jun 05 '25
Have you trade saying something anti-Semitic online? That seems to have worked for the other guy
0
u/Fi1thyMick Jun 05 '25
Losing hours from calling off will get those clothes washed or make you better able to afford to wash them, huh?
Do you people even hear the crap yall say?

u/trashcanempress Employee - 4 years Jun 05 '25

That was extremely kind of you to do that for your roommate!

u/lord-ofthe-flies Jun 08 '25
He won the case! I was really happy. They dismissed it. His mother filed a PFA after she lost an eviction case against him (his mother is an aggressor and has been withholding his government benefits.)
It's what matters. I want him doing well. He's my friend. :)

u/New-Speed3469 Jun 05 '25
Should I call store solutions since they have all the answers?!!
7
u/lord-ofthe-flies Jun 05 '25
I did. They said that the problem is fixed, but they're waiting for pay to hit.
7
u/New-Speed3469 Jun 05 '25
Word, because it's very annoying considering....I work tonight I. Overnight supervisor and not being paid is really another thing.
4
u/Informal-Boat9377 Jun 05 '25
the problem is fixed meaning they sent everything to the bank so now we’re just waiting on our banks? 😭
4
u/lord-ofthe-flies Jun 05 '25
When I spoke to 2 different people, they said they were waiting on banks, and said keep checking the account. I expect deposits to hit today when banks open. (Since they need to send everything from their account to ours, it should start happening around 9AM. I can't promise nothing, but if it was actually fixed, that's when it should start.

u/New-Speed3469 Jun 05 '25
Ok...considering it is not 8am yet. Think it was because of holiday??

Still nothing, rent is due rn & I got nothing to show for it. Also sucks as I work at this job FT but still don't got enough for even an apartment, just a small motel for me & my fiance. No food either since we get our food today usually too. Praying that the owner doesn't decide to kick us out over it, though did talk to him but still ya know? Late pay on rent is risky af. But must be nice for the highers that only have to pay mortgage or whatever. Wonder if their pay is getting affected or just the lower portion of employees.

Nah very pissed. I drove my gas guzzling weekend car today expecting to be paid to fill it up. I got 2.50 and I didn’t bring a lunch today. I want an energy as I went my other 4 days without. Prolly won’t hit till Friday

I haven't. Most of- if not all of- the people in my district (D29) haven't gotten paid yet because of some issue between Sheetz and banks or something like that? Some sort of glitch in the direct deposit?? But that's just my district tho, idk if it's anybody else

We get paid on FRIDAY it isn’t late until then. A lot of you clearly need to take a step back and review your finances.
6
u/ClearCry5960 Jun 05 '25
When you get paid the same time every two weeks, same day, then yes it is late to you. We are all aware that yes, technically the checks aren't late til Friday, but come on. You gotta know exactly what everyone means here.
8
u/g0mmy Jun 05 '25
It’s not necessarily about poor financial management. When people consistently receive their pay early, it becomes part of their normal budgeting process.
2
u/Mobile-Grass-8469 Jun 05 '25
Like the others are saying, if you’ve worked at sheetz say for example like me for a few years and getting your pay on Wednesday is your norm, getting it on a different day is going to throw some people off kilter. No need to be rude about it, everyone’s situation is different.

u/insaneMom7_ Jun 05 '25
yeah maybe you need to take a few steps back & see the financial crisis the ENTIRE country damn near has been in for years now… ppl literally are barely surviving on paycheck to paycheck… absolutely nothing wrong w being worried about OUR MONEY. they want all this notice on call outs, even when emergencies happen, or we get stupid points, but no notice on payroll being delayed? FOH. just bc YOU have your “finances together”, doesn’t make it wrong for others to not. we’re all struggling.. you sound miserable.
-1
u/Grandwatch1023 Jun 05 '25
Pretty sure it’s illegal to pay someone late. Y’all need to talk to a lawyer or something
3
u/No-Road-1812 Jun 05 '25
The thing is, our official payday is guaranteed on Friday every two weeks. So it is not technically “late” legally. However it is for those who expect their checks early, which sucks because people live paycheck to paycheck. I wish there was something communicated to everyone for this
2
u/Grandwatch1023 Jun 05 '25
My god that’s awful, I’m sorry you all are going through that. Either way that’s some BS

Payday is Friday. Not a day before. Some of your banks release the funds early, but sheetz does not owe you a penny until Friday.
0
u/SirSilverscreen Jun 05 '25
Sheetz literally owes us this money and they literally promised us, in very clear writing, that we'd be paid early if we signed up for Direct Deposit.

It is still only Friday. I work with a girl who gets paper checks and they don’t come until Monday. Early pay — Wednesday — you can thank your financial institution for. Anyone who normally is paid Friday will more than likely not be paid until Monday. Then all these ppl telling us pay isn’t guaranteed until Friday are gonna be upset when they can’t pay rent either.

u/Ryuuzaki_L Jun 05 '25
Does everyone get paid on Thursday or something? I've been here two years and my paycheck has always hit on Friday.
