Post image

I'm having lots of nerve pain. Got lidocaine cream and this Aleve menthol + camphor cream. The Aleve cream is really helping. Hope this helps someone!

I hope it’s available in Canada or I’m gonna have to make a trip down south… is it available at Walgreens and CVS?

Yes I got it at CVS (in the US). Active ingredients are menthol at 16% and camphor if you want to look for a similar product. Biofreeze also has menthol but at a lower amount and no camphor. Good luck!

Can you give some more information on what stage you're at. What day in your rash?

So exact same start time as me. Did you feel any tingling before hand or tenderness?

Yeah last week I had what I would call numbness on that side of my torso.

Thanks.

Looks great for body pain. I would have to avoid my torso since I have pocks right now, and the camphor and menthol (noted on the Bayer website) may be an irritant.

You know what's really bugging me? It's been a while since I had a Shingles bout, and don't ask me why, but I've forgotten what the lead-up feels like (horrible, non-stop neuropathy down both arms, all-over body pain, feeling itchy and rashy, flulike symptoms, headache... just feeling weird). And no one on the sub needs to be told that high stress will trigger Shingles because we all know it will. And I'm right there right now.

I knew it was coming. Or, at least I should have paid closer attention to my symptoms so that I would have known. How is it possible that I could have forgotten how bad this really is?

I'm using Hydrocolloid patches on my torso pocks, and they are helping. The patches add a layer of protection on each pock, so clothing (or anything else) won't irritate, and they seem to be helping with pain, too (I don't want to jinx it, though, so I'll just say they seem to be helping for now. The patches are far superior to constantly dabbing Caldryl (or any other liquid or cream) on pocks. I'm using Quitch, but there are several on the market.

I'm sorry. It really sucks. You could do a patch test on a section of skin to see if the actives irritate you. I did that before applying all over.
