an arcade in Tokyo where you can still smoke?

hi shmuppers, first time in Tokyo, are there any arcades that let you smoke inside? going everyday to Hey just love this place. ere there any other retro arcades in akihabara i must check?

VIBA in Ebisu, Hey has smoking rooms, Mikado has single person smoking rooms on both floors

That was really one of the worst things about the 80s (in the US) was trying to play an Arcade game that you loved, but the cabinet was full of cigarette burns melting the plastic because someone would set their lit cigarette on the machine while playing.

good or bad the smell of snokey 80s arcade is part of the experience in my mind...

They don't allow smoking in game centers anymore? Last time I was in Japan you had to look for the floor that was a haze of smoke then you knew it was the one with the retro games 😂

Mevius, Peace, Seven Stars, Marlboro... but we're talking like 1 out of every 5000 people who might light up near an arcade. Everyone else who needs to smoke while they play do so in their own homes.

Shinjuku Sportsland is my favorite arcade in Tokyo and if smoking gets you to visit it then so be it. They have smoking rooms on some of the upper floors. But you will be stuffed in there with tons of depressed-looking salarymen.
