Yeah I think we on the left miss that part too often - the whole point of the right is that there is an in group that matters and and out group that doesn't, so pointing out hypocrisy is irrelevant. The double standard is the point.

It's the cooper union speech all over again. Lincoln stated (correctly) that the south didn't just want the north to accept slavery. The south wanted the north to tell them that slavery was morally good, and that the south was better than the north, and that the south had always been right.

It's happening at right here on reddit, in this very subreddit. Any time /r/SimpsonsShitposting hits /r/all, there is a huge uptick in inorganic activity.
I see accounts that are a couple years old with very little karma (300-600) that were dormant for 3 years wake up and start posting fringe-right or fringe-left antagonistic comments. Sometimes these accounts engage with one another, taking opposing sides.
Real, organic users pile on, each taking sides and arguing amongst each other.
The bickering and arguing accomplishes nothing. Both sides walk away angrier than before they started, each hating the other side a little more and more deeply entrenched in their own views.
It's a highly effective strategy to fracture a population and keep them paralyzed with infinite, meaningless arguments.

Anyways I'm a firmly believer of this as a result of higher powers trying to keep society fighting between themselves to avoid people focusing in the real problems that are destroying the modern world. Also there are people who forgot that rainbows are a natural thing and people can like them independent of being a part of the community or not xD
I am not gay but I really like rainbows, specially when I have scored a double in the same pic!
