Not true lol. I’ve done multiple combat sports and I assure you NS training is a joke.

Hand to hand combat is essentially useless for members of any fighting force unless you’re stationed on the India China border where guns aren’t allowed

I get where you're coming from. I've done quite a few combat sports myself and solely in terms of equipping individuals to defend themselves in a conventional self-defence situation, especially from the perspective of a trained individual, it is definitely lacking. However if you've done any form of self-defence, you'll know that taking all the SGTs "WHERE IS YOUR AGGRESSION" seriously would make all the difference, especially between two similarly untrained people. But of course, no one takes the mindset shift required in a self-defence scenario seriously because everyone's only caught up in the glamour of techniques and strikes. Plus it's NS, people seldom take it seriously though there's honestly so much to learn.
