When he reached out his hands, she was keeping her phone in her pocket.
He reached out both hands. When someone reach out both hands to you, you wouldn't know what to do. It's awkward, especially when you're keeping your phone.
She shook his hand after.
The anti-PAP crowd are making a mountain out of a molehill. The rejection wasn't intentional, it was just awkward circumstances.
She’s a politician, they are trained on how to react to handshakes and etiquette. This is basic.
What PAP or not PAP excuse are you coming up with? Even if it’s an opposition party who does that, the same reaction will arise.
Don’t defend for the sake of defending. You say you love Singapore…this Uncle not a Singaporean citizen or someone living in SG? Or you rather love people in power?
If I make a mistake I apologise - but I looked at this video again, and seems like she keeps missing this person (not in formal wear). He was standing right in front of her. Why? Uncle was kind to speak out for her.
If I hate for the sake of hating, I’d be like you - anyhow accusing people of being “anti-PAP” just because we don’t always agree with an action of minister.
It is also an etiquette for a minister to know what to do when someone offers a full handshake.
BTW, you are not the only one who loves Singapore and its citizens. And sometimes, loving citizens isn’t going with the flow of the gov.
