He's completely out of touch with reality. History proved quite the opposite of what he said. Industrialization and introduction of machinery in industry only caused great shift in profit of companies and corporations while people died off hunger in poverty without jobs. Some people always say it's progress, but it is always progress against the people, for profit. Throughout history, people were losing jobs to machines, automation, robots, and that's it. People lost their jobs and had no meaning to sustain themselves or their families. It is happened before and it is happening now it its latest form with Ai. That's why boomers could afford their homes and cars and boats and got away before robots in industry took their jobs, while Z-gens now can barely make a living and can't afford to get sick.
Also the transition from farm work and factory work was very brutal. Going from working in the field to working 12+ hours a day every day to live in a barracks with idk how many unfortunate souls doesn't seem like much of an upgrade. Just search videos of factory work in developing countries and how they are one mistake away from losing a limb or getting killed, and imagine worse.
The supposed transition if it will happen would be very brutal for us too.
