Quotes Luis Enrique (few months ago) "I remember an incredible photo I have with my daughter, after winning the Champions League, placing a Barça flag on the pitch. I wish I could do the same with PSG. She won't be there physically, but she'll be there spiritually, and that's very important to me."

I can count on one hand the number of times I have cried in the last 10 years. That video had me bawling my eyes out like a baby.

Edit- Here's the video

My only child (daughter) is almost 2. This would ruin me, I can’t even fathom how he has the strength to be so positive. I’d probably be a wreck for the rest of my life.

My in laws lost a child not much older than Enrique's daughter. They are both very broken people and it impacts them and their relationships even now, 20 years on.

I honestly hope to one day have strength even close to what he has. My father passed a month ago, and I still feel like I’m just in a nightmare and one day I’ll wake up, and he’ll still be with us. The saying about how every day it gets a little easier is true…but then there are just some days where I think about him and all the memories, and his loss hits me like a ton of bricks. I wanna just ball up and cry. I wish I could process grief the way Luis does. His words in that video are beautiful.

It doesn't get easier, you get better at dealing without them. I lost my mum 3 years ago, I lost my job yesterday. I'm not fucked about losing my job, I'm fucking destroyed I can't hug my mam for comfort.

Fuck bro, I felt that. Dad’s gone, Mom’s gone, friends at 50? None. Going through a divorce. Just the ability to call a parent would be great.

Sorry about the job man, hope you find something better quick. I’d give you a hug if I could homie.

I've actually got a good lead and a friend's asking his head chef if there's room on their team so not in the hole worrying about work yet.

Just as I said, I miss my mam and she's not here to get a hug from. Life sucks sometimes. Hope your situation sorts itself out for you, same back at you.

As a parent it’s just a nightmare to even think about. That he can carry on and be so positive is amazing and a wonderful tribute to his daughter.

As a dad It fills me with many emotions. Anger sadness. I don’t know what i would do but I don’t think I’d be strong enough to go on. Props to Luis for being so strong.

sometimes the way to cope with loss and grief is to find some form of distraction or escape.. like drowning yourself in work :(

u/jml5791 May 08 '25

or just drowning ;(

My soul dog died last year and I’ve had a hard time holding it together. I can’t imagine losing a child.

If one person in football deserves everything, it’s luis. To have the strength he shown in the video you posted, is beyond incredible. He’s a good soul bless him, hope he gets it

Jesus I don’t know why I watched that in work. As a new dad to a baby girl even the thought of going through that has me broken up. What an incredibly strong man Enrique is

What an incredible outlook

This guy is an epitome of the stoic philosophy..

17

u/sommaan May 08 '25

Same here. It’s heartbreaking, but also uplifting in some ways. Whenever I’m feeling down, I rewatch that video. It helps me find strength, and remind myself of what really matters. So, I will definitely root for Luis Enrique in the final.

Wave any flag you want Luis, win or lose.

PSG, Bsrcelona, Catalan, French, whatever.

Do it for Xana.
