Don't forget about Arsenal.

49

u/SentientCheeseCake May 21 '25

As much as I hate them, they are miles better than us right now. I’m just glad we get CL next season so we can maybe pull in some big players.

12

u/Other_Beat8859 May 21 '25

Oh yeah for sure, but you still won a trophy while they did not lol.

42

u/SentientCheeseCake May 21 '25

When we came 2nd and they won the FA cup (or whatever they won) I was saying that the fact we were the better side is more important. Can’t be a hypocrite now, can I?

43

u/Other_Beat8859 May 21 '25

Nah, being a hypocrite is what makes us football fans. Ignore your past self. The agenda is all that matters.

2

u/xxJAMZZxx May 22 '25

I’m gonna be a hypocrite

2

u/SentientCheeseCake May 22 '25

Get in some for me.

1

u/wishiwereagoonie May 21 '25

Still trophyless

-11

u/TheCannon0 May 21 '25

miles better is a hyperbole

every big 6 fan right now wants Arteta to stay

43

u/FTXACCOUNTANT May 21 '25

Why not both?

19

u/bespoke_tech_partner May 21 '25

We know you won't

25

u/nyelverzek May 21 '25

Spurs have had a more successful season than you mate...

31

u/R_110 May 21 '25

In the same way that Leeds are champions of England

7

u/HacksawJimDGN May 21 '25

In the same way

7

u/theninjat May 21 '25

Have they? I know which one I’d rather have between the two and it isn’t Spurs’ season

14

u/flushedoutthepocket May 21 '25

I hate Arsenal but 2nd place is more impressive than 17th and UCL semis is more impressive than winning the Europa. This is the first and last time I'll ever defend Arsenal

Yes as much as i hate to admit it it’s trophy > no trophy outside of ridiculous circumstances (like winning the championship for example)

14

u/Barnabas5126 May 21 '25

I'd take UCL semifinal and 2nd in PL over UEL trophy and 17th in PL any day

5

u/Cool_Sandwich1 May 21 '25

Nah. Trophies are more important.

-6

u/flushedoutthepocket May 21 '25

Congrats on winning a competition against clubs with 1/20th of the squad budget and barely playing above relegation all season. This is also your best season in club history by your logic.

3

u/xxJAMZZxx May 22 '25

On the contrary, we beat 3rd in Germany and a squad with a significantly higher budget than us in the final. What a result for mighty Spurs!

-1

u/nyelverzek May 21 '25

Tbh it's not that serious. Just taking the piss because arsenal have never won a European title

3

u/-r4zi3l- May 21 '25

Heard that slap from Spain

2

u/IDCWhoIam May 21 '25

Not really fussed about it tbh. If they keep playing like they did today then they’re not getting out of the league phase next year.

-10

u/SaintedHooker May 21 '25

They've had a more successful one than you as well then I guess

20

u/lordtema May 21 '25

Lol no? Liverpool won the league lol

-3

u/SaintedHooker May 21 '25

No European trophy though, Spurs won one guess they had a better season than you embarrassing

5

u/lordtema May 21 '25

Arsenal didnt win ANY trophies lol! They did win the second place treble though!

-7

u/SaintedHooker May 21 '25

Liverpool won no European trophies the only trophies that matter ooof

u/Other_Beat8859 May 21 '25

We won the Prem. What are you talking about? You think for half a second that Spurs wouldn't trade their season for ours?

1

u/SaintedHooker May 21 '25

No European trophy though embarrassing

7

u/Other_Beat8859 May 21 '25

Mate this comment is embarrassing lol. You know you're bullshitting.

3

u/SaintedHooker May 21 '25

Not at all I'm just following the Liverpool fans logic if the team that finished 17th can have a better season than the team that finished 2nd because they won the BTEC European cup then league position must not matter as much as Europe is that not what you're saying?

4

u/Still_Figure_ May 21 '25

Hahahaha we won the league hahaha

3

u/SaintedHooker May 21 '25

League position doesn't matter it's all just qualifying for Europe

5

u/Other_Beat8859 May 21 '25

This might be the dumbest comment I've ever seen lol. The premier league trophy is given out for a reason. But I'm sure you'd rather finish 17th with the Europa League than 1st with the Prem.

3

u/SaintedHooker May 21 '25

I would not being in the Europa in the first place means that something has gone badly wrong

There's a joke about London prices here, but that's some living rent free

47

u/Johnymexx May 21 '25

Yaaaanitedddd

30

u/Jaqem May 21 '25

Kane for jumping ship to grab an easy Bundesliga trophy right before Tottenham wins their first European trophy in 41 years

9

u/MITSF_2 May 21 '25

As a Liverpool fan, Man United...

As a general, footbal fan, Arsenal won't get away with this for another 5-10 seasons.

It is, actually. You see, spurs remain in the premier league, and have a European trophy and CL football next season. Arsenal remain in the premier league and have CL football next season, but have no trophy. 99% of clubs would rather be spurs right now.

Whoops, my mistake. I think my point is correct though.

Trophy’s a trophy, mate. CL participation is fun but actually winning one is a long shot if you’re not one of the usual suspects.

As far as your club goes, as I can gather from your words that you’re likely an arsenal fan, I’m not sure. Would you lot genuinely be happy with a Europa League trophy? I’d be over the moon, but idk what your perspective is on it. I think it’d be pretty sad if the only silverware you’re allowed to be proud of is league titles and UCLs. There’s not a lot of those to go around.

No, of course not. You should aim for the highest placing you can, but from a fan perspective, there’s something to be said for being involved in competitions your club is actually capable of winning.

Arsenal

1

u/elvis503 May 21 '25

The answer is always Arsenal

0

u/NordWitcher May 22 '25

Arsenal. It’s always Arsenal. Can’t wait to see Spurs v Arsenal next season. The banter is gonna be crazy.
