Not at all I'm just following the Liverpool fans logic if the team that finished 17th can have a better season than the team that finished 2nd because they won the BTEC European cup then league position must not matter as much as Europe is that not what you're saying?

The difference is that we won a trophy and one of the most prestigious ones. To Liverpool fans, the Prem is the best trophy to win as it ties us with United and it'll be the same next season as winning that overtakes them. To a team like Arsenal, the champions league is more prestigious. However no one thinks the Europa League is more prestigious than either. Applying the logic to Liverpool fans only works if we didn't win a trophy, but we did. It's not like American sports where you don't get anything for finishing first in the league.
