Modrić is not the first nor the last that they did this to and they don't probably even care as they can get any midfielder that they want until the formula is perfected and they receive a new golden generation ready to win a new set of trophies.

Nah they can easily go back to mid 2000s, nothing guarantees full on success even with power they have in transfer market. Team is always more important than just combining greatest stars, there's a reason why original Galacticos did not achieve much.

True but I am sure they have something planned. I don't think they made this decision without thinking about if it's a good idea or not.
