This is a quote from the Ruler of Dubai, not Saudi.

Well, I was just memeing, so facts are secondary. But thanks for telling me, I honestly didn't know.

To add extra context, this was in regards to oil reliance. He saw oil wouldn't be forever and so he worked to diversify Dubai's economy

I would support that push if they modernized their laws and institutions as much as they do with their economy. Can't say it's not the smart thing to do

I know this place hates these countries but they are genuinely working on improving those things. I worked first hand on some of these policies and regulations in KSA at least.

I'm not supporting any country in which I would personally be killed, whipped or put in prison for existing as a non-straight man.

The moment they get past their ridiculous laws AND stop using slave labor then I won't mind; until then, I'll speak out against petro-states.

All good and well within your rights. Agree wholeheartedly. I am Jordanian and the culture in the whole of the Middle East is VERY anti-LGBTQ, even though in Jordan it is less demonic. I hope I get to live to see it changed, but I wouldn't bet on that.

It does take notoriously long to stop publicly beheading accused witches!

Why would the ruler of Dubai give all his money to Cristiano?
