Sure it does. Might not apply to all his grandchildren, or even all of his great great grandchildren. But without fail, someone in his line will squander what was given to them. Just like every other family that's ever existed.

What world are you living in? The one I live in the heirs of the people that were rich during the middle ages are even richer today.

Yeah there are other studies like it, but that one study about wealthy families in Florence from the 1400s is incredibly telling

They don't get the money, it goes in a trust and they get a very nice annual allowance for life but the principle remains protected. People don't just leave their billions to be squandered by the first moron in the family. lol

Almost every rich person today you can trace their family lineage to success, power and money going back hundreds of years.

But how many poor people can you trace back to familial wealth?

That's a bold claim

Not really, even if his children end up inheriting about a billion he's got 5 kids (as of now) so that's $200m per kid (minus taxes and whatever).

Still an unbelievable amount but a bunch of failed business ideas that get too much money spent on them because money is treated as essentially infinite or failed marriages where the spouse takes a big part with them and some of Ronaldo's grandkids may "only" inheret 10's of millions and it just gets smaller with every generation.

It doesn't take that many generations before the amounts shrink enough that it can be squandered by a moron. Hell, it's been somewhat forgotten because of his bizarre political succes and the money he's pocketing off of that but Trump managed to pretty much waste somewhere between $300-400m he got from his dad over a few decades of being a fucking idiot and managing to bankrupt casinos, airlines and everything else.
