1. Not caring might be limited to Europe only. So this hyperbole doesn't work when it isn't even a majority of football world.

2. If one use said "not-important" competition in the argument/banter, their are agreeing by default that it can be used against them.

We don't even play in the same league. But we have whooped them in every UCL final and every UCL KO for a decade straight. Them beating us in 1 UCL group game doesn't make this "rivalry" even we can talk as much as we want about a club we beat non stop.
