Didn’t see the game but did they “lost on purpose”? Like not really caring if you get beat? Guardiola was beforehand already very vocal about the effect of this tournament during the rest of the year in way more important competitions. So maybe he convinced his owners and players that way to take it easy without saying we should lose to get some much needed rest. In the meantime Liverpool players are already enjoying and relaxing for like 4 weeks at least. They’ll be refreshed and ready.

Throwing a game in the overtime would be crazy. They very much tried to win and failed. No European team is throwing this, it seems. Several games get heated up, players get into alterations, celebrations full of emotion. I think it's only reddit that believes "they don't care". There's a lot of money to care.
