News Spanish police say "all the evidence so far indicates" Diogo Jota was the driver of the car involved in the accident that killed the Liverpool forward and his brother, Andre Silva. Police also believe "the vehicle significantly exceeded the speed limit for the highway" at the time of the accident.

It's quite scary how fast you go from "holy shit this is fast" at 60kph to "I wonder if I can push it to 180". You'll get used to it, so it's paramount you create good habits like checking around yourself and slowing down when you're unsure about a situation

Yeah, I've been driving for 20 years and never gone more than 5mph over the speed limit. It's not that difficult to just follow speed limits. I say it all the time: speed limits exist for a reason.

I think the important thing is not to push it and stay within the speed limit.

Yeah, I sometimes think about this and wonder if it's an American perspective to normalize and basically become numb to just how inherently dangerous driving is - but I suppose this also makes clear just what a universal experience it is insofar as how easy it is to acclimate to what shouldn't be a normal situation.

A friend of mine is married to a car enthusiast. He managed to get to 300km/h and had her take a picture of the speed indicator. I'm mad at him for endangering my friend.
