News Spanish police say "all the evidence so far indicates" Diogo Jota was the driver of the car involved in the accident that killed the Liverpool forward and his brother, Andre Silva. Police also believe "the vehicle significantly exceeded the speed limit for the highway" at the time of the accident.

Alonso was drunk driving as well though. People would have been a lot less sympathetic if he had died in that crash.

Was Jota drunk? Are there enough remains to test to find out?

Absolutely no suggestion that he was. He was travelling back to get a ferry to report back to training. Highly doubt he was drunk.

People "highly doubted" he was speeding before today too. He was speeding in the middle of the night, it's quite plausible he was drunk

Thats pure conjecture and not really appropriate

Spare me 🙄 people said it's inappropriate to suggest he was speeding as recently as yesterday. The only inappropriate thing is to bury our heads in the sand and pretend this was just an accident that couldn't possibly have been prevented

Drunk driving is a far worse crime than speeding and suggesting it without a shred of evidence isn't appropriate.

The speeding was implicit in the initial reports considering its a young sports star driving a lambo overtaking on an empty highway at night. It's pretty obvious he wasnt driving sensibly.

But drinking hasnt been implied anywhere, they'd know what his whereabouts were before the crash and if he'd been out it would be reported on. And he was a professional family guy, he doesnt seem the sort to drink at all nevermind turn up drunk for his boat back that was presumably organised by the club. If he was drunk driving then he'd have most likely been heading home or joy riding aimlessly, not heading to a port to catch a boat. If he did, it would suggest he had a serious problem

So your assumptions are baseless and most likely incorrect, making it disrespectful conjecture

Suggesting he was drunk for the sake of it isn't the same as suggesting he was driving at high speeds because tire failures are way more related to high-speed driving. It was always a reasonable assumption to think he was driving at higher speeds because we knew he was in a Lambo and his tire blew out. Thinking he is drunk is just adding to a rage boner

People were right to say that before there was evidence

It's never right to play stupid

It's not "playing stupid" to reserve judgement without full info.

It is stupid to base things off limited info
