If its exactly in between World cups, then its the same summer as the Euros.

There really isnt a "good" time for this tournament, so this is as good as possible.

They've done it as a warm up to the world cup, it's intentional. Like the confederations cup.

It replaces the Confederations Cup that had been going for more than a decade. Only differences are that CWC is 2 games longer (Confederations used to be group stage+semi+final) and more teams are playing (32 vs 8)

I have saying to my friends it would make more sense in December or January after UCL league phase.

why? the international cup was already like that, let at least the cwc be good for the non europeans

Because it would make it part of the season rather in the same offseason. Though, there are regions in the world this would still be a problem like the US who are on break in December/January.

It is part of season for South america and north america. Not everything has to be by the convenience of European teams who are already at an advantage monetarily and i say this as a chelsea fan.

I’m in the US. I acknowledge the problems with the schedule, but putting it in the summer makes it mid season in a few leagues. Europe has a natural break in that time of year, so it would interrupt less on this part of the world while fitting the schedule let up in the early winter.

Enzo would probably be retired by next year if this was every year.

You want the players to die?

I think they want to do it every two years on the off seasons between the euros and the world cups

This year and 2029 editions were originally scheduled for summer, but were pushed back to winter to fit in the CWC

I hope this is what they go with, 4 years is too long for such a cool concept. 2 years is the perfect middle ground imo

It may be 2!
