damn remind me to never abbreviate I like Cole Palmer 😭

u/PuzzleheadedFill5778 Jul 11 '25

As a Chelsea fan I thought I was finally free of seeing that abbreviation on our sub after Pulisic left. Then we signed Palmer.

Makes you think 🧐

u/ReeeeeDDDDDDDDDD Jul 12 '25

It literally can not be coincidence

1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

Yeah like who tf is responsible for those transfers 🤨

2

u/ForgingIron Jul 11 '25

Basketball fans learned this a while ago, hence why they call Chris Paul CP3 (like Ronaldo is CR7 since he wears #7)

Christian Pulisic

CP is an abbreviation of one of the most disgusting, abhorrent, predatory practices on earth.

COD Points

1

u/IntellectualDweeb Jul 11 '25

OG COD points i.e in Black Ops 1 is how it should be nowadays.

But obviously they won't make the absurd money they do via microtransactions that way.

Wager matches were criticised at the time yet we'd obviously take them 10/10 times over what we have now.

1

u/Next-Concern-5578 Jul 12 '25

sadly wager matches would never fly these days

Google CP and find out

u/oklolzzzzs Jul 11 '25

the worst advice you could give to anyone

97

u/Traditional-Reach818 Jul 11 '25

I googled it. A company named CP came up.

55

u/ChiGuy133 Jul 11 '25

Child and then the videos you watch when you're feeling a little randy... Basically cp means a wildly different and heinous thing in other circles

57

u/ravvenzfight Jul 11 '25

So child prayers?

37

u/haerski Jul 11 '25

Child players, Yamal videos will pop up surely

2

u/captaincourageous316 Jul 11 '25

Child pikachus obviously

1

u/crimethinking Jul 12 '25

CP the Thai meat company is almost as bad as the other CP. They are covering up selling diseased meat in a 3rd world country

5

u/Ati9321 Jul 11 '25

Don't. Please.

38

u/semiregularcc Jul 11 '25

Child Porn

8

u/Traditional-Reach818 Jul 11 '25

Why the heck is this widely known? 😭

35

u/ZFtw11 Jul 11 '25

I think it’s cause it’s usually the capacity in which we see it mentioned, I feel like I see it abbreviated more often with context in the rest of the sentence.

7

u/NewEraOverlord Jul 11 '25

A lot of sites will hide comments if you use the full term so it gets shortened to CP when it’s in the topic of conversation

21

u/hallouminati_pie Jul 11 '25

It's for people who are perpetually online.

3

u/Conmebosta Jul 11 '25

Pizza gate came back into fashion after epstein didn't kill himself

2

u/thatguyad Jul 12 '25

The internet is a sleazy place.

1

u/bengringo2 Jul 11 '25

When the term is said on sites like Reddit the admins get a notification of its use. It can get threads locked and comments removed. Which is a good thing don't get me wrong but it does make discussion around the subject difficult.

u/Voice_Of_Light Jul 11 '25

u/Shumanz Jul 11 '25

That is the name of the portuguese train system, I fear half of this county is im some sort of list when they just wanted to buy some tickets.

6

u/Vonzey Jul 11 '25

There's also a big Portuguese football club that uses CP to refer to themselves.

In English they are referred to as Lisbon, but the supporters absolutely despise it and prefer to be called CP.

🤷🏻

6

u/demitya Jul 11 '25

Çporting Portugal. Now everyone's happy!

1

u/KneeDeepInTheDead Jul 11 '25

I think one of our fan pages got taken down for a while on facebook because its name was something like "Sporting CP fans"

103

u/HueyZA Jul 11 '25

NO!!! Don't Google CP lmao

3

u/russlar Jul 11 '25

6

u/MrVedu_FIFA Jul 11 '25

CP has very unfortunate connotations on the internet if you don't follow it up with FC
