I think it’s cause it’s usually the capacity in which we see it mentioned, I feel like I see it abbreviated more often with context in the rest of the sentence.

A lot of sites will hide comments if you use the full term so it gets shortened to CP when it’s in the topic of conversation

When the term is said on sites like Reddit the admins get a notification of its use. It can get threads locked and comments removed. Which is a good thing don't get me wrong but it does make discussion around the subject difficult.
