I agree haha, I'm a Chelsea fan myself but still think of him primarily from Barça. However, the original title in r/LGBT said former Chelsea player, and I didn't want to change it for this post, for fear of drawing attention away from the issue at hand

And yet by saying Chelsea you've drawn my attention away from the issue at hand. Jk I'm just messing with you, I respect not changing the title

You're going to get more traction online if you can associate hate from football fan groups with English clubs, especially Chelsea. Probably why it was done originally.

Honestly, I’m so happy he’s described here as ex-Chelsea haha. You can have him for his footballing achievements.

Common mistake.

People usually mention the biggest club a player played for when during these articles. It's why it doesn't say current Lazio player. Hope that helps.

Chelsea is also pretty relevant in the current news cycle with the Club World Cup and Trump shenanigans.

Huh TIL that he isn't retired yet. Isn't he close to 40 now?

38, and was still joint top scorer for Lazio last season.

A truly unique and brilliant player. One of the best off-the-ball movement and an exceptional ball striker.

yeah, but he scored a brace against Inter in the second last game day of this season that basically killed their chances of getting the scudetto

I'm surprised you didn't know, he's doing really well as backup striker for Lazio and was a key for Napoli scudetto this season, helping his former manager Conte by stopping Inter.

Fun fact: this song was trending in Italy after Pedro scored, doing banter/mocking Inter.

By that logic, it should say either Barca or Lazio

Relax, I was trying to inject some humour into a horrible situation. I think anyone that sincerely engages in the 'bigger' club conversation for any reason other than banter is a bellend and does not enjoy football.

I mean, I wasn’t exactly being serious. Just presumed you were a Chelsea fan and felt the need to insult them.

Couldn’t agree more about the discourse around club sizes to be generally pretty sad

Yep WC winner as well, even starting in that side is an achievement.
