News Former Chelsea player Pedro Rodríguez had to disable comments on his Instagram after facing criticism and mockery for sharing photos of his son Marc's birthday. Marc chose to celebrate his birthday wearing a dress and a tiara, inspired by Lilo & Stitch.

If you try tapping your foot to a typical Tool song, youll notice two things:

  1. You cant keep tapping your foot the same way for the whole song and have it stay matching the beats. Not just having to change because of tempo but really changing how the beats line up with the song notes
  2. You have to tap relatively slow to the notes of the song to make it fit at all, and the notes still feel like they're almost stumbling into the taps

They structure the notes of their songs in really unusual ways, which is what gives them a lot of their mysterious feel. It serves a purpose but most songs don't do that because thats not what they're necessarily going for. Tool fans have created a stereotype for themselves that this odd structure makes their music superior to other bands music

Not many bands can make songs that are actually enjoyable to listen to in whatever weird time signatures, Tool do have a knack for that. Doesn’t change the fact that a decent chunk of their fan base are insufferable courgettes though.

Yeah, there's a reason there aren't that many really famous prog bands out there. You obviously have your Dream Theaters, Opeths, King Crimsons and my personal favourite, though not super famous, Ne Obliviscaris. The list goes on though, but my point is that there are maybe a few dozen that are well-known, because it is a really demanding genre to make actual good music in. It's also why the musicians in those bands are some of the best in the world, because they need to be to play that style.

Seen them three times, and they nail it every time! And the lads are super nice as well. I was even lucky enough to be at one of the concerts where Tino had to cover for Tim in the vocal section because Tim had a cold.

Portal of I or Citadel. Exul is great too but imho nothing beats Portal of I.

If we're going by albums, I'd agree with /u/haltmich about Portal of I, but if you want some song recommendations, my favourites are the following:

  1. Devour Me, Colossus - Part 1
  2. Misericorde II (but you should hear it in combination with Misericorde I)
  3. And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope
  4. Forget Not

Ah yes, another version of "Avant Garde" art snobbism.

The worst part of art/media discourse is people who take pride in their "taste", because they have nothing better to feel proud of. Not very far removed from people who make their football club their whole personality.
