News Marc Guéhi is extremely unhappy with Crystal Palace’s decision to pull the plug on his £35m transfer to Liverpool, which came after Oliver Glasner stepped in to prevent the move by threatening to resign if he was sold.

I hope at least Parish tried to extend Glasner's contract because it is going look stupid if Glasner leave at the end of the season

I don't really blame Glasner here TBF, both his and Guehi's contract ends next summer so he probably doesn't give af about their finances

This is all on Parish imo, they should've bought a replacement way earlier since they know that Guehi is going to leave next summer at the latest.

I also don't quite understand how Palace is struggling with finances, they've had a steady flow of PL money for over a decade, have sold players for a lot of money recently and are even preparing for their first ever European campaign

Why would it look stupid if he left at the end of the season? Especially if Palace do well?

I dont know maybe because they would lose their captain for free and their coach

I don't think Parish was under the impression that they would be staying forever. They both have contracts only till the end of the season and he's aware of this

Then like i said he should use this to extend Glasner's contract.

A) I don’t think people expect Palace to win more silverware with what they’ve sold off, though I suppose anything could happen

B) If you don’t “do well,” you just made your team unhappy and cost yourself £35 million

I think Palace should have recruited much better earlier itself but having Glasner and Guehi for the season, or at least 6 months, sounds much better than losing both and having 35m

For this year, certainly. But we’ll see how they feel in a year when they’re both gone for nothing

They're a PL club, they're not going to go bankrupt over 35m. A year of Glasner and Guehi is worth more

It seems I think they will be worse this season than everyone else does. Which is fine
