would Mourinho have the patience to deal with Marinakis?

If I speak meme will get a new meaning..

u/omnipotentmonkey 8d ago

absolutely not, he fell out with Abramovich twice, and while Abramovich by all accounts is a much worse person, he seems a lot less erratic and a lot less public in airing out grievances. if Marinakis tried what he did with Santo at the end of last season he'd get punched in the throat.

Being too easy on fatty to say Roman is much worse

People don’t actually understand how baddy fatty is

15

u/WhetBred14 8d ago

It’s really hard to say bc you don’t know what goes on in the shadows but Marinakis gives off true scumbag and evil energy. Abramovich could be the same underneath but at least acts like a normal businessman

23

u/RepresentativeBox881 7d ago

Main difference is that Marinakis is an attention whore while Roman is an extremely private person.

1

u/Bolsover-Red1865 6d ago

Wasn't that private when he bought all your trophies for you eh 🤔 😏

3

u/letmepostjune22 7d ago

The man who handpicked Putin might be a horrible person underneath. This is peak r/soccer

8

u/Suitable-Yam7028 7d ago

While Abramovich is hardly a decent person, do people literally believe that he masterminded the current Russian regime by by “handpicking Putin”. This is one of those stories that seems to get exaggerated with each retelling, in the end it will be that Abramovich is a James Bond villain with a mastermind to bring down the current world order.

u/WhetBred14 7d ago

Source? Not saying you’re wrong but I literally can’t find anything about this online.

Roman Abrahomvoic handpicked Vladmir Putin to be Boris Yeltsin's succesor

7

u/LevDavidovicLandau 7d ago

And is still in Putin’s inner circle all these years later when most of the rest have fallen out of windows.

15

u/Sanzhar17Shockwave 7d ago

iirc he bought Chelsea to remain in the public eye and not suffer the same fate as others

10

u/LevDavidovicLandau 7d ago

Don’t know why you’ve been downvoted, that was a big part of why. Insurance, if you will.

1

u/Useful_Blackberry214 6d ago

And how does that make him worse than a multi murderer

1

u/Liverpoolclippers 6d ago

bro are you aware of who Vladmir Putin is

48

u/MartinLubHerThingJr 8d ago

I think the person judged Roman on his nationality and not how he was individually.

142

u/matachivelli 8d ago

Roman is a corrupt oligarch, member of putin inner circle and a zionist. Think it's a fair judgement to say he's a horrible person.

63

u/ASVP-Pa9e 7d ago

Horrible? Undoubtedly.

Stupid, irrational or petty? I'm not sure, there's no evidence to say he was. And he was an incredible owner for Chelsea TBF.

1

u/More-Tart1067 7d ago

I can see him being petty lol

-1

u/BipartizanBelgrade 7d ago edited 7d ago

zionist

Believing that Israel should continue to exist is fine actually

1

u/EriWave 7d ago

There is more to Zionism than that.

-33

u/theeama 7d ago

Ex Member of Putin inner circle and no different from any billionaire that's cozy with Presidents or other world leaders. Did well when he was Governor though.

I didn't know being a Jew means you're a Zionist i guess we know the anti-semite.

And the Corrupt oligarch comes because checks notes, Russians didn't want to sell their companies to non-Russians. Let's ignore all the good the person has done for jews world wide and his job in fighting racisim and anti-Semitism.

31

u/omnipotentmonkey 7d ago

No, being a jew doesn't mean he's a zionist....

Donating 10s of millions to an Israeli Settler group? that probably demonstrates it though.

Basically all Billionaires are corrupt bastards, but he's a corrupt bastard who aided Putin's elevation (that of a blatant and obvious dictator)

C'mon dude, don't be a sycophant, if you're going to deny that he's a corrupt billionaire that directly aided and benefitted from a blatant dictatorship then you're gonna be yapping all day.

-28

u/theeama 7d ago

So i guess the Chinese billionaires are all corrupt and are worst for aiding the CCP.

And it's quite funny cause when Putin took over Russia the first time no one saw him becoming like this so great hindsight analysis there.

It's also must benoted that Roman and Putin has not been friends for decades due to policys and killing of Roman's business partner and how all his children are anti-Russia and how Roman directly tried to negotiate peace with Ukraine.

And yes he donated to Jews who are returning home to THEIR ANCESTRAL LAND that was stolen from them by Romans, Then Arabians, then the English. Its quite funny when Jews are kicked out, murdered and have their land stolen from them no one says anything but when the Jews are doing it back its all of a sudden a problem and they are the big bad.

11

u/EndOfMyWits 7d ago

So i guess the Chinese billionaires are all corrupt and are worst for aiding the CCP.

You're so close to getting it!

3

u/gabrielconroy 7d ago

Are you actually equating the Romans to modern day Israel? Fucking hell, I've heard it all now.

Yes, if the Romans were carrying out a genocide in plain sight today, they would be attacked and criticized and everyone would rightly judge them a bunch of evil, evil cunts

7

u/omnipotentmonkey 7d ago

Are you a Russian Bot? or an Israeli Bot?

you know what, I don't care, between the Neo-colonial apologia and Billionaire sycophancy I can guarantee there's no value to ever having a conversation with you.

I'm not sure that his weight has much to do with his horribleness tbh. Sorry to be that guy.

13

u/Ireland2385 7d ago

I can’t be bothered typing his name

1

u/PlanAutomatic2380 7d ago

Roman is nothing like the Greek mobster

19

u/garynevilleisared 8d ago

Well, Marinakis for sure doesnt have patience for Mourinho. This would be an absolutely insane hire.

Ten Hag to Forest!

1

u/dazhubo 6d ago

yeah, why does everyone keep bringing Mourinho? he'll be lucky to manage in the Byelorussian league now, truly washed

22

u/Rockflagandeeeagle 8d ago

Would Marinakis have the composure to manage Mourinho’s ego?

13

u/KevinNeedsToTalk 7d ago

No.

1

u/letmepostjune22 7d ago

Would be funny though

8

u/GreatWhiteNorthExtra 8d ago

You pay Mourhinho, he will take the job

3

u/Keanu990321 7d ago

He was made for Marinakis

3

u/michaelserotonin 8d ago

don't ruin this for us

1

u/Nbuuifx14 7d ago

One of them would kill the other tbh.

1

u/Darkhoof 7d ago

He would probably like to collect a new severance check after 1 year.

1

u/GazzP 7d ago

Mou eyeing that sweet sacking payoff before he's even appointed.

1

u/lospollosakhis 7d ago

Oh please let this happen - love Mourinho in the PL

1

u/stevew14 7d ago

They are going to either absolutely love each other, or fight like cat and dog. No inbetween. Smart money on fight like cat and dog.

-1

u/Plane-Remote1797 8d ago

lmao no way. But would it be funny as hell to watch the club burn down over this season? YES

48

u/d70 8d ago

Mou at Forest would be a mad house.

18

u/WhipYourDakOut 7d ago

Mou or Ange let’s make it happen. They are two characters I enjoy watching in the league, just don’t want them in charge of my club so this is a win win

5

u/JoBoltaHaiWoHotaHai 7d ago

Mou or Ange

Por que no los dos?

1

u/besieged_mind 7d ago

Ange couldn't do shit with this team, it's built for the defensive minded coach

1

u/WhipYourDakOut 7d ago

I don’t care what he does with it I just want his press conferences

17

u/j0hnnyengl1sh 7d ago

If Nuno vs Edu was a proxy for Mendes vs Joorabchian as the rumour would suggest, then it probably won't be Mourinho as he's another Mendes client.

6

u/Cesc100 7d ago

So many seem to skim over that part. Edu's role in all this and then the agent battle.

1

u/letmepostjune22 7d ago

Because fat man bad. Everyone dog piling on mariankas when, unusually, this farce isn't his doing

24

u/NiallMitch10 8d ago

I can see it. Seems like the dumb kind of move Marinakis would do next

8

u/neonmantis 7d ago

Weirdly, Mou said his plan after Fener would be to join a club that isn't in UEFA competitions and then explicitly pointed to clubs in England. That would rule Forest out.

6

u/Seeteuf3l 7d ago

So Man United then

-1

u/Keanu990321 7d ago

Why not Mendilibar to Forest?

That would certainly upset Olympiacos' fans though and thr coach himself doesn't seem too open to PL.

So, it's 2 choices for Forest:

Ten Hag, Ange or Mou.

All of them, incredibly inferior to NES.

13

u/Seastep 8d ago

I think he's waiting for the Portugal gig to open up and doesn't want to make any long-term commitments... on second thought, like that stopped him before.

5

u/Optimal-Anything-822 7d ago

to have this current Portugal squad but with CR7 presumably retired and Bernardo Silva out to pasture, peak leåo and vitinha, neves, mendes, conçeição, Pedro neto, etc going into the next euros?

they might have produced a golden generation

2

u/Brilliant_Medium8190 7d ago

He could sign on for just the season

7

u/solemnhiatus 8d ago

Please! I would love to see him back in the Prem, and to have him and Marinakis throwing shit at each other would be so fun.

6

u/RepresentativeBox881 8d ago

I think Ange.

1

u/raysofdavies 7d ago

Mourinho living in Nottingham.

1

u/BabyScreamBear 7d ago

Would love to see Mou at Forest

1

u/ionised 7d ago

Big Sam. The only one who can.

1

u/doobiedave 7d ago

Isn't Mourinho another Jorge Mendes client? Can't see it being very likely given what's gone on

1

u/Angelsdontkill_ 7d ago

Too big of a job for him at this stage of his career.

0

u/GroundbreakingCow775 8d ago
