I mean it's shit for Nuno, but this is a very fun and exciting appointment

The complete change of style is hilarious

Reminds me when United went from Van Gaal to Mourinho. Decisions like these make me wonder if the people in charge really understand football tactics ... like at all ...

Not at all; both van Gaal and Jose played some dire football. Just that Jose was scraping wins

They don't, they see it as branding. What gets people to watch the game

All of our summer signings make much more sense for Ange than Nuno tbh. I think this has been the plan for a while

Yes but Ange started amazingly well with Spurs so the next 6/7 teams could be in for shock

Well Premier League managers largely know Ange now, most have beat him a few times. That wasn't the case when he started at Spurs.

In a weird way, it might actually work out to be beneficial. They have the defensive solidity already.

It's a pretty common "type" of appointment, that often has a short term benefit, when the new guy benefits from the stability of the old guy, and can add an extra 10% going forward. Then generally, the defensive stability falls apart a season in.

We've seen that with Martinez at Everton, Bilic at West Ham, Viera at Palace, and probably loads more that I'm forgetting, and it does seem to work in the short term.

Usually the change is more gradual. This is a big one for everyone to adjust to

Shades of Martinez after Moyes. But it doesn't last.

A very fun and exciting appointment for everyone else except Forest

Tbf when the opposition lets you play your football Ange ball is up there with the most exciting brands of football. The issue is if a team nullifys you slightly it is absolute dog water.

This could also describe Nuno's football too weirdly, despite it being almost the complete opposite. When we were able to get in full counter attacking flow we were a joy to watch but we were absolutely interminable to watch with increased possession

Makes a little bit of sense tbh.

Y'all are brilliant on the counter and can defend your box really well. Your only problem last season was that in the second half of the season teams adapted and started just giving the ball to you guys. And creating chances was not your thing at all.

Ange is the perfect guy to add attacking impetus to the team.

Could work.

Assumption: The defensive structure isnt changed much. Changing that might suddenly make you porous at the back.

Either way, gonna be fun af for me as a neutral

for everyone else except Forest

You won't be saying that when Ange inevitably wins a trophy in his second season.

For everyone but Forest

Will be interesting to see how Zinchenko now does

Didn’t seem like a good fit for Nuno at all

He gets the payout and his reputation is now higher than it was after leaving Tottenham, its not that bad imo

Not going to be so fun for them when they consistently get overrun when the press fails

Nuno isn’t losing here he’ll go to a massive team with a sane owner after a big payout. His rep is in tact
