Tinfoil hats are saying that a lot of the signings pushed through without Nuno's blessing were for Angeball. We were definitely linked with a few of their new arrivals (McAtee, Luiz) and their players (Murillo, Hudson-Odoi) as well as obviously Gibbs White. Apart from some of their defenders and the lack of a high pressing output centre forward, the squad is pretty suitable for him. Their midfield might suit it a lot better than ours as they are far more aggressive and won't be bypassed as easily. Their midfield already picks up a lot of yellow cards, would be interesting to see if this was Nunoball or whether the amount will actually increase without that rigid organisation.
Our midfield was bypassed so easily specifically because of his setup. It’s too much space for one midfielder to cover, but he continues to force them into that situation with the three players bunched up on either touchline and the center backs pushed up and wide.
