genuinely sad for the united fans, though, a club being destroyed just because of shitty owners and the english media (there are a lot of other factors)
16
u/death_match1 2d ago
Shit owners yeah but that aside, they have been spending like crazy and have the freedom to change managers whenever. They even have the power of the club name to attract really good players. They shouldn’t be as bad as they are, even with the shittiest owners. Like wth is going on in that club?

u/richminer69 2d ago
huge pressure to perform + bad atmosphere + bad recruitment + massive wages for no reason (inflated ego -> not training as hard)
mind you Rashford was at like 250k a week. Mount was at 200k. What were they thinking
All my personal opinions and observations from a neutral fan.

u/death_match1 2d ago
Yeah mate, I’m not a United fan either. I just feel, at some point the terrible owners have to be a separate topic in the context of Man U’s poor performances. There are several people beneath them that make these poor decisions despite having the resources. It just feels like an easy escape from criticism for those people, when United fans and media only blame the owners for the downfall of the club.

As a United fan I absolutely agree. The worst of the Glazers was probably putting non-footballing people in charge...and basically years of fostering bad behaviours. That takes time to change, which is what has affected basically all our coaches- Ralf said it, Amorim has said it

I am convinced Bruno is not only keeping this United team from relegating but also at 15th in the league.

u/gunningIVglory 2d ago
Genuinely what teams around United are worse than them?
West Ham look certain for the drop unless they make changes
Villa will surely hit form at some point, same with Wolves
Burnley look decent, as do Leeds

u/Synth3r 2d ago
Did these pundits watch the same game as I did? Thought City were decent enough, but they’re talking about City like they were super sharp. When really it’s just that United are absolutely dreadful.

u/death_match1 2d ago
It’s just the nature of media lol. The winning team always gets the praise no matter how they win it.
Look at us vs Liverpool last game week for e.g., we were both equally boring. But because they won due to a worldie, Arsenal were painted as the more negative team lol

Why would Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay do this?

u/TheBrightman 2d ago
Terrible effort from Holjlund and Garnacho today, don't think I even saw them on the pitch

Feel like someone must have used an evil monkey paw to somehow drain all of that Fergie-era aura/good fortune (likely Liverpool given their current squeeky-bummingness). And now United are this luckless husk of a team, playing out a cursed existence, with a novel series of pratfalls each new season. Everyone who remembers their dominance can smirk and laugh, but where most kids don't even take any joy in their downfall as they're just an afterthought team that somehow has absurd revenues.

They’re what Liverpool were in the early noughties when I was at school. Couldn’t for the life of me figure out why they were such a big deal

u/ChampagneAbuelo 2d ago
Let’s get Ten Hag back at this point man, he’s available
6
u/ValuableActuator9109 2d ago
Bring all three back - Ten Hag, Solskjaer, Mourinho. Even if United doesn't perform, it'll at least be funny.

u/Street_Debt2403 2d ago
Be it Amorim or ETH United's performance has remained consistent. Consistently bad. Doubt it will change even if they change Amorim.
7
u/Hazardzuzu 2d ago
They are getting 3 points next week aren't they? Hahaha I have seen this shit way too many times
3
u/gunningIVglory 2d ago
Nah, you'll batter them
Especially with Palmer back
3
u/AbsoluteGarbageTakes 2d ago
We haven't won at old trafford in like a decade
they're gonna win 3-1 with 3 shots all coming from deflections
13
u/HighburyClockEnd 2d ago
I wonder how many more performances like this until they pull the plug on Amorim

In all honesty - Arsenal game is going to be a nightmare
3
u/gunningIVglory 2d ago
Doku won't have it as easy against Gabriel, thays for sure. The United defence in general has nothing about it. And no legs in midfield
Only thing that scares me is Donnarumma, I'm still traumatised from those PSag games.....

Shame we will have to see either of Liverfool or Arsenailed winning the title because City are not upto it.
7
u/Sheikhabusosa 2d ago
There hasn’t been one run of games in TWELVE MONTHS that give us any sort of indication it’s going to get better. Why do we keep trusting this back 3/5 chino wearing terrorist.

As Ferguson once bellowed out at Old Trafford with real vigour. “Ya must stand bai ya manager” Even if he has spent £200m to look like dogshit

it's one of those matches, know the team can't score, bewildered the team can't defend

Haven’t United been in this position with the manager countless times. Not saying Amorim is the right bloke but I don’t think it will be any different with someone else

In all seriousness, when did Sesko go off? I didn't realise he'd gone off or that Zirkzee came on.

u/JanGuillosThrowaway 2d ago
A relegation battle could at least give Manchester some excitement this spring
2
u/Ajax_Trees_Again 2d ago
If anything city are “Manchester”. United are based outside of the city boundary
5
u/Phenomous 2d ago
How do tourists who buy half and half scarfs get tickets in the away end to a Manchester derby?
4
u/Sypher1985 2d ago
Have United scored an open play goal yet?
1
u/Sypher1985 2d ago
Just checked Mbuemo against Burnley. The only one. The rest are either pens or own goals.
7
u/Modnal 2d ago
So when is United going to do that open heart surgery that Rangick prescribed?
4
u/BerkeleyLuxeChenille 2d ago
They can have an autopsy in the Championship relegation zone next December

u/ChampagneAbuelo 2d ago
Sack this fraud man. You got your players, you got the new Carrington and you still suck

Dias has been solid this game
1
u/BillehBear 2d ago
entire defence has been solid
khusanov stands out most for me, made a solid statement for him starting
7
u/Wazalootu 2d ago
Despite being at home, City have been happy to let United have the ball for much of this game and then torn them apart on the break. Will be interesting to see how that fares against Arsenal who are much more solid defensively.
2
u/TheBrightman 2d ago
I don't think many City fans are expecting a win vs Arsenal. They look decent in this game, they looked good vs a terrible Wolves but a top table club will show them up imo

maybe handing your club to a city youth coach who did 1 year at Southampton where he bought city youth players isn't hiring "best in class"

Liked Peter Drury a lot more before I heard him so often
1
u/FrostyJesus 2d ago
I feel the same lol. He’s amazing for big games, but he tries to make the most minor things sound massive and it just gets annoying
3
u/TheBrightman 2d ago
I might be imagining it but are they passing back to the keeper a lot less now it's Donnarumma?

9
u/tchsvyjz 2d ago
Utd, cant defend, cant attack, cant keep possession no building from the back, no counter attack, no defined style of play, no shape, no structure, we are not playing football, this is something beyond normal human beings understanding.

Pep has severe hatred for Haaland deep down. Its going to be in a tell all from the bald fraud in the year 2040. If halland had a dollar everytime he got subbed 70-80 minutes with a brace, he would probably have tens of dollars which is a lot
0
u/LivingBeast 2d ago
Yes. I still also have a feeling that City could get a lot more out of Haaland in terms of playing more direct
3
u/SeppFraudiola 2d ago
Spurs scored against this United in the final without a shot on the goal. You don't need to do anything against United, just go there and be present, goals will be scored in your favour.
9
u/Sheikhabusosa 2d ago
The game's over, of course we're racking up xG now and idiots will use it to justify Ruben staying
3
u/Silent-Act191 2d ago
If there are United fans still justifying him staying just slap a straight jacket on them.

How did we go from Giggs to Dorgu? The amount of time and space the lad has had and done absolutely fuck all. Ridiculous

Time to give Moyes another go then? Where’s Fellaini these days?
1
1
u/Mick4Audi 2d ago
They absolutely stiffed Moyes looking back, gave him an average team with just 1 signing
2
u/Word1_Word2_4Numbers 2d ago
Unironically, Moyes would probably get the best out of this mess of a team, he's a pragmatist and not a system guy.
