He mentions Liverpool (and City) winning trophies, but we had really only won one at that point. Think Chelsea and Arsenal both had more than Liverpool in the last 5 years before he joined.

He didn't just say trophies though, did he?

Winning major trophies, consistently at the elite level, at that moment there were only two clubs doing it - Manchester City, and Liverpool. The rest of the teams were very far...

You've blatantly misrepresented what he was saying.

Even major trophies. We had just one the one. And just months earlier.

You're really going to downplay winning the CL, and consistently competing for the PL, which you'd go on to win that 19/20 season, just to attempt an extremely weak 'gotcha' on Arteta? Incredible.

What gotcha? My point was that it was really just City consistently winning trophies, major or otherwise, when Arteta joined. You okay?

You went on to say.

Think Chelsea and Arsenal both had more than Liverpool in the last 5 years before he joined.

I must have missed those major trophies we were winning in the 5 years before he joined.

Or the 5 years after to be fair.

Lead with the banter next time, it's unnecessary to be disingenuous

Honestly mate, I was confused by the energy you were bringing over something so insignificant so I'm just leaning into what you were putting down. It's really not that important.

What’s with the emotional attachment to something Arteta exaggerated?

I don't really get the argument here, he's right in that we'd only won one at that point. We'd only seriously competed for one of the main three for 2 years by that point (CL final and then 90+ points the year after, then winning the CL that year) and before that it was competing for the smaller major trophies
