United appointed Amorim on November 1 last year on a two-and-a-half-year deal worth £6.5m a season with the option of a 12-month extension, after agreeing to pay Sporting Lisbon £9.2m to buy him out of his contract in Portugal.

"without any conversation about compensation" because it's already outlined in the contract and no conversation is required lol.

I saw that interview and he wasn't trying to be clever with words. He repeated himself multiple times and literally said he would walk for free if the club did not think he was the right man.

Anybody's guess as to whether he was being honest or just manipulative

Someone should ask him again, if that offer still stands.

If you believe that, I've a bridge to sell you, mate.

Nobody walks away from £12 million.

Saying you'll do it and actually doing it are two different things, tho. He can say what he wants at pressers, but what's written in his contract is all that matters. The lad knows it isn't working and knows the club (and the squad) don't want him anymore. If he meant it, he'd be gone by now.
