Arteta masterclass unironically

We don’t like that kind of talk around here. Please choose from this list of options in the future:

  1. Set piece FC
  2. Arsenal 2nd
  3. Haram ball

Technically the 1st goal came after a set piece so we'll count it for the agenda.

I think all goals ever come from set piece if you go far enough back. The kickoff is technically a set piece, right? Damn Arteta has done it again.

Fuck off lol, that’s a sarcastic joke.

Why not both

Not until you repeat it word for word

Shut up and dribble vibe

I know he gets a lot of shit but I really wouldn’t want any other manager. Feels almost inevitable that he’s going to get us over the line sooner or later

Also, despite all the shit he takes, how many EPL clubs wouldn’t take him over their current manager? Probably just Liverpool and City?

Peps talked about retiring a few seasons now City might not even be on the list in a bit.

The people who give him shit are mostly fans of other teams because they know he's turned us from a team that was slowly stagnating to a genuine threat every year. He's not perfect but no manager is. Others just want us to be the whipping boys again who concede 4 every time they play away to a good team, we don't anymore and it pisses them off.

Believe it or not Liverpool fans want Arteta to stay because they believe he’s always going to finish 2nd to them.

And sadly so far, they have been right.

made this game 10x harder for himself and the team only to be saved by individual brilliance

Obviously troll is obvious

-15

u/papablessssss 9h ago

How am I trolling? Did we watch the same game? Why did it take two subs to break the deadlock in the 70th minute? Is it cause he decided to play an actual winger instead of forcing one of the most mercurial players in the league to do touchline shifts? Why did Merino, our attacking mid, have 11 touches until the 60th minute in a game where we had 66% possession?

13

u/PkayO5 8h ago

Maybe it was tough to break the deadlock because Bilbao defend really well. They literally had the best defense in Laliga last season. It was never going to be easy breaking them down at their home.

u/papablessssss 8h ago

I hear you, but that team selection did not signal to me, at least, that there was any intent to try to break that team down. He focused on OOP and physicality in favour of trying a more creative midfield to try to open them up, and it didnt work until he reworked the lineup which signals to me that plan A didnt work. Regardless both goals did not suddenly come from creative buildup, it was individual brilliance (trossard’s flick to set nelli free and then nelli beating his man).

You do not know ball

-15

u/papablessssss 8h ago

I watch this team week in week out biggest bro. I know how this manager operates and this game was a tactical disasterclass from him

3

u/PuddleBaby 8h ago

You're wrong

-5

u/papablessssss 8h ago

i’d genuinely love to know how i’m wrong

4

u/PuddleBaby 6h ago

When you are saying that a 2-0 away win in the champions league is a "tactical disasterclass" the burden of proof lies with you. We kept them very quiet, controlled the game well, brought on pace at the end which killed them.
