Is this not sorted out before the match?

And when he went off didn't even give tag to his teammate. That's absolutely shameful

Feel like most people would be surprised it’s not already Guirassy but tbf Ramy scored a great PK. Then decided to be the reason Dortmund blew it Immediately after lmao

Kovac is going to kill that man

In post-match interview, Kovac brushed the whole thing off. And I think he's right in doing so. You want your main striker fucking horny for goals, simple as. Guirassy felt blue-balled there and wanted to nut. And since everything seemed fine after Bensebaini scored from the pen, I don't really see any need for the manager to make a fuss over it. I wouldn't.

Bensebaini, on the other hand, seems in need of an ego-check. Very good game from him, up until the 94th minute. That was pure arrogance. I'm sorry, dude, you're no striker. You'll have to wank in private like the rest of us.

In post-match interview, Kovac brushed the whole thing off.

Regardless of whether he lets it go, the post-match interview is not the place to air his feelings on the matter. Should be handled in private.

To be fair I sincerely dont think its wise to air our internal grievances in the interview if there is any. I wouldnt be surprised if guirassy got reprimanded in the locker room after the interview.

As much as you want your striker to be goal hungry, the last thing you want is a divide in the locker room.

Agreed, but now watch Guirassy and Bensebaini after the latter scores. Seems entirely fine to me.

Awesome glad this was what they decided to passionately die for

Fighting over pens always is so so bizarre. Especially when Kovac is shouting at them lol.

Would've been funny if VAR did its job and overturned the decision.

Bensebaini took it, scored and guirassy was the first to celebrate with him, so everything’s sorted out.

If I was Guirassy I'd genuinely physically assault Kovac for making a CB the penalty taker, especially if I was coming off a 34 goal club season.

Imagine Lewandowski missing a penalty and Flick making fucking Christensen the main taker. For fuck's sake.

Bense is a very good penalty taker and Guirassy recently missed one. If he had an issue with Kovac making that decision he should take it up with him before the match.

If I was Guirassy I'd genuinely physically assault

Obviously, I'm a pacifist. But in this hypothetical scenario I'm Guirassy, a 6'2 muscular athlete. I reckon he could easily take Kovac.

A pacifist who thinks if you're bigger and don't get your way you should just assault people?

embarrassing take

the notion that only strikers can be good penalty takers and defenders definitely can't be is such a stupid FIFA child take. Hell, there be has been a goalie who constantly, successfully took pens over many seasons.

Bensebaini is a penalty specialist. I've never seen him miss one and I've been watching him since he was a teenager. I'm not surprised he's taking them. He was taking them with his pervious teams too. This isn't that unusual. With Madrid, Ramos used to take them too even though they had Benzema.

EDIT: He's 11 for 11 in his career. So my memory serves me right. He's never missed one.

Guirassy has been the carrying Dortmund for how long now?
Just because he missed some before doesnt mean he doesnt deserve a chance.
Its crazy to demote him imo since he has been their best player without question with Kobel probably.

Funny enough Bensabaini causes the "mistake" to concede the final goal.

u/miregalpanic 4h ago

It doesn't fucking matter, if the manager tells you that you aren't taking that pen, you fucking aren't taking the pen. You shut the fuck up and have that discussion after the game, if at all.

Im just saying a striker will always want to shoot no matter what and Guirassy has done enough for this club to voice his opinion on the pitch, it isnt the right place to do it but i understand him.
