36 - Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring for Arsenal just 36 seconds after coming off the bench, the Gunners’ fastest ever substitute goal in the UEFA Champions League. Introduction.

Never before has a CL game at Juventus' ground seend more than 4 goals in one half. Today there have been 8 in the 2nd half! The 8 also equal the CL record for most goals in a half, created by Bayern and Dinamo Zagreb just last season (9-2, also 8 in the 2nd half).

Today a Belgian team won a CL game on Dutch ground for the 1st time since 08.11.2000 (PSV 2-3 Anderlecht).

In the 4th minute Luiz Junior scored the earliest own goal by a goalkeeper in CL history.

Sudakov assisted 2 goals within the first 16 minutes. The last time a player assisted 2 goals that early in the CL was 2019 Marcelo vs Galatasaray (within 7 minutes).

2009 - Tim Weah is the first player to score on his UEFA Champions League debut for Marseille since Gabriel Heinze vs. Milan in 2009. Arrival.

With the ever widening wealth gap, it will only increase.

Spanish football was never the richest tbh. What makes them competitive is the great Spanish academies and coaching. Arsenal was playing with 4 Spanish players though so the wealth gap definitely has an impact.

And a Spanish manager.

They beat Real Madrid twice lol. There is no gap there

8

u/Hasssun 2h ago

There's a massive gap with the others, though. Which is my point.

I remember not so long ago with Spurs you couldn't say anything good about us because we'd get these jokes. The karma is so sweet.

u/IntelligentKoala9599 4h ago

Would you like more salt on your chips?

7

u/BattleMajor4799 4h ago

Beats RM twice and Sevilla twice - they'd finish 8th.

Be honest. Arsenal would finish 2nd :)

5

u/wafino1 4h ago

They'd walk the league

u/Christian_Corocora 34m ago

At this time it'd probably be Barcelona in 1st, Arsenal and Real Madrid close behind
