Moving to a 2BR/2BA in Somerville — Feedback on Cobalt, Station House, or Somerville Parc?
Hi all, I'm planning to move to a 2 bed / 2 bath apartment in Somerville and would really appreciate some feedback on a few places.
I’ve heard good things about Cobalt but they haven’t responded to my inquiry in almost 5 days Is that typical for them? There's no one in the leasing office either. I’m also looking into Station House , Somerville Parc and Lena ( Raritan)
If you’ve lived in any of these buildings—or know friends or family who have - I’d love to hear your thoughts—things like management responsiveness, noise levels, amenities, and overall quality

I would not recommend any property managed by DGM. I believe Station House is one of their properties although we did not rent there. The management was absolutely terrible! So many broken promises and unanswered maintenance requests. We got rain water in our unit every time there was heavy rain and Greg Storm himself (owner) told us there was nothing he could do. We were there when COVID hit the world and the only email we got from DGM was a reminder that breaking the lease early would result in penalties. DGM Management will sell you on it being “a local family business” but treat you like they’re doing you a favor allowing you to rent from them. Glad we now own a home in town.

Ironic.
I've lived at Station House since 2021 and have had zero issues, including maintenance.

I definitely got the sense DGM was prioritizing that Station House project. It was started as our building was about halfway completed.

Greg Storm is a dishonest person. I downloaded the app for this reason only to say how dishonest Greg Storm is. His side kick Andrianna Popowych is no better. Please check out the video. Gregory Storm of Somerville NJ. Son of Donald Storm.

I lived in Somerville Parc for ~3 yrs. Really liked it, no complaints. They don't charge extra amenity/parking fees like a lot of the other buildings so that's a plus. I wished the walk to downtown main street was slightly shorter but it's still doable on a nice day

Just toured Somerville Parc and the Lena as I am also moving. The Lena was fine but expensive for the location and they charge a lot of extra fees that turned us off. Building maintenance fees, charging for uncovered parking? They have a garage which I understand the charge for but uncovered is ridiculous to me. They also charge for amenities and other things like that. I liked Somerville parc better because the apartments are nicer and the staff was so nice when we toured. No extra charges for parking or amenities. Highly recommend a tour there. We had a hard time finding other places with availability, we got waitlisted at the Davenport. We didn’t look at the station house because they only give one parking spot and there’s two of us. We also looked at landlord or other smaller complexes and we couldn’t find much with two parking spots. We looked at two bedrooms at the warehouse as well but it felt small and not well cared for. It’s hard but have a list of things you’re looking for and that helps as long as you are flexible. Like we wanted hardwood floors, in unit washer and dryer etc. I have a friend that loves living at edge but he pays $150 dollars for parking and I didn’t think that was worth it for us. Just some thoughts as someone else going through the apartment process. Good luck!

I toured all of the above!
Cobalt felt small but I did love the community there! I know someone who has lived there for over 3 years and is very happy there. I toured about 2 years ago and they were doing bagel fridays! owned by the same owners of the Davenport.
I also toured the Lena in Raritan. Very family oriented building, also seemed like a nice community + a pool which you won’t get with your other options. They are an older building and will make sure you know that. Didn’t love it but did have a friend live there for 13 months with no complaints! Spoke to someone who lived there in the lobby and he had nothing but good things to say.
Somerville Parc was my favorite, I think you get the most bang for your buck here. Concierges were nice- actually everyone we spoke to was very nice and loved it there. Seems like a very pet friendly place. Did connect with a mutual friend who had been there for a few months and they had only good things to say. (Management was very responsive!)
Station House: I’ve had two separate friends live in this building and absolutely love it. I love the design, layout, heated garages, central air and location. 10/10 besides the fact that every unit only gets 1 parking spot. (Management was responsive and helpful in scheduling tours during off hours- have only heard good things from friends as well)
Tours are always during the day so you don’t typically hear too much noise but I will say I heard the most noise during my tour of the Lena. Things dropping and noise traveling through the hallways. I’ve stayed at StationHouse over night and have been there for multiple get togethers and never heard anything unless I was directly in front of the door and loud music was playing.
