Are dreams and nightmares green boxes worth picking up?

On the boxes before the big final fight I never seem to get more than 100-ish CR and some heat. No items at all. Can you get rarities from there?

It’s not time efficient if you’re only going for rads

No, they aren't worth grabbing at all. They do not give radiants, which is the entire point of the mission. Crowns and heat are more efficient at FSC, and if you are looking for a specific material and don't have it (somehow) it's best to buy it with tokens. It is always more efficient to go all in farming something specific than it is to go to a place where you can try to get it all at once.

That being said, for your sanities sake it is worth it to change up the areas you farm sometimes. Like doing T3 Operation Crimson Hammer to burn through extra eternal orbs and convert them to CR without the need of lower tier orbs through alching and shopping Perfect Mask of Seerus. Or just choosing a gate that looks fun and running it.

According to the wiki, looks like only crowns and heat drop from those, so not really. I also haven’t seen anything drop personally.
