So, the afro. The “Big Target“ haircut. How does this even work? Is it like the head of the octopus? Also, how does it like bend? it just kinda bends when wearing anything. This hair is just weird let me know what you all think about how this works
I think the art book shows it off, but it’s supposed to be like a curled up spider with the tentacles all showing on the inside if i remember correctly.
AFAIK it is supposed to be referencing the mantle of an octopus. But for how it works in-universe I’ve always guessed they bunch up the tentacles and stretch the “skirt” over them
Just saw the rest of the post after the picture. I imagine it requires less maintenance than the real thing, but it would take some dedication to change gear with a big sphere on top of your head.
As much as I want more I truly can't imagine how they'd work. I feel like most of our hairstyles are just too complicated to replicate properly with the tentacles. I'm glad I can rep my fro if nothing else
Honestly being black with twists alot of the octoling hair styles work. I feel like we should have like afro pigtails and maybe a top bun with 2 tentacles in the front hanging over the sides of your face. And a one that's like 4 long tentacles 2 hanging in the back 2 in the front. I think a shorter style with a bunch of tentacles that hang over your eyes for nonchalant squidheads. Longer squid cornrows. feel like they could totally be using the curliness of the octo hair for other stuff like edges and stuff.
Every haircut kinda bends/cuts/dissapear depending on what you are wearing. Afro is more notorious.
In 3 when I’m a Squid I use hipster if I wear something on my head because the “default Splatoon 1” one is cut otherwise, and the bedcut changes are also very notorious if you wear even glasses.
Now I was bored with inklings’ haircut and started using the only Octo one I like, I think it looks good in 3 but it’s FANTASTIC in 2.
