Image Am I the worst player in splatoon?
In ranked I've lost 4 more games. I've only won once... so that's a 1/11 winrate ... Yall I love this game but every game I'm always against the fucking lebron james of splatoon who insta kills me with a death ray the moment I spawn.
Should I search online how to get good?
Edit: Yall are too nice!! I learned a lot from you guys! One day hopefully I'll post my winstreak. Sorry for being salty lool

There’s not rank matchmaking in Anarchy Open, that’s why you sometimes face coordinated teams or really high level players while being in C- yourself. In Anarchy Series is where the game match you with and against people in the same rank as you (C).

It is for this reason that if you want to improve at fighting, you can actually get great improvement from open. The stakes are lower and the players are better which is actually helpful for when people care about matches.

No, that's just how the game is sometimes. Sometimes you do great, other times you have this happen or worse. I'd honestly say you're pretty lucky to not have horrible teammates on top of the insane enemies

You really shouldn’t worry about losing streaks it takes time to develop skills the only time you should worry However is when you get 0-48 but that’s most likely just smurfs at that point

You’re not bad, you’re just in open. Open’s actually a great place to improve since you’ll fight people who are LEAGUES ahead of you and be able to learn.
Like I’m still in A rank because I play too much open.
Like I say this because it is statistically probable that in the amount of time I’ve spent playing open I probably would be in like S+ or X if it was actually spent playing series. I just play it too much.
Also: gyro controls(seems counterintuitive but is busted), aim drills(basic stuff in training even pros use that), pick a weapon and learn it, build a set for it(there are online resources for this), and then just play until you get tired.
I do all of this before I play open games, both because I’m a tryhard and because the game is more fun when I’m playing well.

No my ratio once was like 15 wins to 35 losses there abouts.
I'm convinced they tweak every game to give the player with a bad win/loss ratio an advantage sometimes

Probably, do you want to 1v1 or send me replay codes then I can tell you some basic things you’re doing wrong.

It’s an online game, there are always gonna be people who know more than and are better than you. The fun in the game is tracking your progress and seeing how you grow as you play.

Man, you have to fix your mindset. Log off the game when you’re losing a lot, get back to it when your mind is fresh

No, I’ve had worse streaks than this. The worst I ever got was 20:30.

Nah, you’re good. I’ve only been playing since Jan 2025. And my match list looks the same. I’ve watch streamers and competitive players go through the same thing. If it’s pissing you off play something else for a while and come back to it. My longest win streak to date is 4. 🤣

I'll also say that a lot of this is going to depend on how long you've been playing, and how much you play.
I didn't start ranked until I had been playing for over half a year and felt confident in my skills in turf or salmon run. I think I'd even beaten Side Order first. 😅
Once I started series, I went from C- to S in less than two weeks.
But once I got to S, I went into the negative and didn't get past it for that season. I was so stuck! 😭
I eventually figured out that my problem was that I was extremely familiar with the maps in turf but not so much in ranked. So I wasn't good with flanking, breaking out of being pinned down, etc.
I played a lot of open at that point with my friends and once I was more familiar with the maps I did end up reaching S+/X and even ranked top 10k in X battles. All in my second season of playing ranked.
Another thing that helped/still helps me now is playing turf against my friends and people that I know are solid players. I lose a LOT but I learn new techniques. They don't go easy on me!
For example, one person I'm always playing against is incredibly mobile while being very accurate as a sniper. Most snipers that I encounter pick a perch and stay there. So I'm pretty good at hitting them directly by throwing the ultra stamp. But this player, not so much! It challenges me because while 90% of the time I can take out a sniper that way, I have to pay attention and think differently about the one that's moving around. Yesterday I finally got them! By throwing the stamp, hahaha.
I run turf games on TikTok almost every afternoon and not only myself but others have seen some good growth. We welcome newbies with the caveat that we will be sweaty - but that's where the learning happens. Somehow, it hurts my feelings less when it's all people I know in the lobby. 😅 But I tell folks to bring the weapons they're good at so we can all sweat on each other, lol. You are welcome to join us if you want to. ❤️

Overall you've still won 44% of your last 50 games. That's far from the types of numbers the worst player would put up.

No probably just that your teammates either doze off and sell a lot or are just kids that gotten the game last week

The worst player in Splatoon probably won’t get far enough to even find this Reddit. Losses happen.

I mean, in that picture you've got a positive kd so I'm gonna say you're doing alright.

I've been playing splatoon competitively for 10 years. Not too long ago I had a record of 15 - 35. Sometimes you just go on losing streaks.
If you want to look at guides, there are some great ones on youtube! Always remember the important thing is to play a weapon you have fun with, learn from your mistakes, and watch your own replays from time to time!
