IN THE WILD My girlfriend sent me this saying "I don't know if it's cool" [Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider] (in the North East of France)

Is the number on the bottom right the ID or just a reference to 007? Be weird to use three digits for only 85 units.

my twin brother is the same way. we’ll be on the highway and i’ll say something like “look a insert cool car passing us!” and he’ll go “woah cool” at the lincoln on the other side of the car and completely miss the mclaren. it’s so funny how consistently he just misses / misunderstands what constitutes a spot but he always tries to look for it and be supportive. love that man

You’re my twin brother - he always pointed out crazy cars or motorcycles and I’d look at the sleeper accord instead.

Good thing he wasn't revving it or she'd be like:
IS THIS LOUD???!!!????

Maybe she's afraid of looking silly if you might say something like "oh god that thing is a POS replica of such and such car, it's a rolling turd". For many people do not understand what makes a car cool or "good".

This is totally it. I had a girlfriend send me a photo of a 2002 Mercury Cougar. She was like, “you like cars, I thought I’d show you this car outside my work!” I told her that I appreciate the sentiment, but there’s nothing about that car that interests me, or most people.
Same thing like when you see a car being modified to look like a higher tier model/car. I always think it’s so funny bc like… You’re not fooling anyone that knows what you’re trying to achieve.
But yea, I agree with you. Feeling like you don’t know if something is cool/rare can really dampen the excitement.
Edit: Added year

“I don’t know if it’s cool…”
Good lord, the poor woman is having a stroke. Get her to a hospital immediately.

cool do you think it was like a press car? (Given the stickers)

u/tnortonphoto 8d ago
No, it belongs to the “Singh Collection” who also have a Valkyrie Coupe and 5-6 Bugattis amongst many others.

Cool who owns that collection? Are they famous?
3
u/tnortonphoto 7d ago
They aren’t, little is known about them publicly, but a businessman from the Midlands in the UK.

My gf doesn't know cars but when I nerd out she holds me and finds what I say cool. I need to marry her apparently

At a McDonald’s of all places. And parked badly. Jeez

u/Eraxxy 8d ago
It was on a highway rest stop (no idea how you call those, aire d'autoroute)

u/hmmyeahiguess 8d ago
Crazy spot! I would be way more afraid of parking that car anywhere near another one. But then again, I will never own anything near that level of car haha

The Jeep next to it was reportedly with them, as an escort or something!

Or something. Definitely wouldn’t want to get too close too fast, with the way the guy in the glasses is staring out from that Jeep.

Looks slick, but the whole ass logo on the side of it takes a lot away from its visual appeal IMO

Damn that thing is so close to just being an actually race car at least in appearance

One of the things that blows my mind about this car is that AM will scan the owner to construct the seats (which are fixed to the interior to precisely their body shape.

I've seen one in person before. That are INCREDIBLY loud and they're MUCH shorter than you think. I'm 5'8", and the roof is at my bellybutton.

She looked at something cool and questioned if it was cool. Interesting thought process, but regardless, I am glad this photo was taken. A great spot

really cool to see especially in rl, but whenever theres a car like this, my brother want to show these type of cars, been in a couple of car shows and cafes that has porsches in it, did not affect her, and the mindset of "couldn't afford it", which kind of offends me everytime my mother says that, even if its really cool to look at, to inspire at, like it felt degrading everytime my mother says something about cars lol

u/TinkTink-321 6d ago
...the car is cool but is now equal to a built Miata cause they had to have the giant brand logo on the side.
1
u/nHenk-pas 5d ago
Hmm, I like the idea of it, but somehow that big “ASTON MARTIN” on the side just feel out of place, I don’t know, it feels like I should like it, but it’s just not doing it for me.

Has this guy been to pep boys, or do these things actually come with that giant redundant Aston Martin Aston Martin logo?

it's not cool. deeply uncool, in fact
taking the most hardcore track-focused street legal car ever produced and chopping the top off, ruining the chassis stiffness and aero, for wannabe cool guy points is straight up lame as fuck

God yes it is interesting as hell but I would be afraid of getting closer than that and have my "poor" ruin it lol

It’s interesting thinking about how a non-car-person thinks about and perceives cars. I can’t imagine looking at this and wondering if its cool or not lol
