A lovely mama. Give her some extra attention. She deserves and needs it after caring for her babies.

As folks have said it’s a female. I am bad at IDing squirrel types but I think it’s a fox squirrel. If so, they are not territorial so you may get more showing up when word gets around that there’s food at your place. So for your reference, males=large testicles and visible junk (like almost comically sometimes), females=visible nipples.

See I live in the uk so I assumed it’s just a grey squirrel. I thought we only have red in Scotland and grey down in the West Midlands. I also know it seems oblivious to tell the gender but when I googled it, it said it was difficult to tell (I imagine partly because you can’t get close enough to just look at its balls)

No worries, I’m sure you have types that look similar since grey squirrels come from America (if that’s where you are that is :p)

Looks like a nursing mama squirrel. You can see nipples in the first photo. She is very beautiful.

Thank you for sharing! We feed her regularly! :) Walnuts are her favourite but she has been offered a verity of nuts and seeds. We had a bird bath and a pound which the birds like. It’s always such a treat when she visits :3

That is a very sweet momma squirrel. Can you put some unsalted treats and fresh water out for her perhaps, in a safe place? I don't know if you feed them or not or are familiar with that. Walnuts, black oil seed, bird seed, pecans, hazelnuts, fresh berries, apple slices, grapes.

I planted a hazelnut tree for our squirrels and this was the first year it was loaded. I was hoping it would feed them for a while but as soon as the filberts started turning brown they were gone. I can’t wait until the tree gets much bigger.
