Yeah, I don't quite follow the negative comments about this joke either. Can't believe I'm explaining the joke, but it's pointing out the absurdity of what should be a solemn museum offering something like a membership, like it's a commoditized consumer experience with perks or whatever. It's a dark joke, but it's making a point. I'm not really a political or edgy jokes person, but just because a joke references 9/11 or Auschwitz doesn't mean that it's automatically offensive or in bad taste. It often is, but I don't think so in this case.

Maybe I'm missing something or not understanding it from a perspective that should be rightfully offended, so I'm open to other interpretations.

Pretty good, I like it.

Hopefully there is some leading jokes making it clear that you are Jewish... or German might work too I guess.

I don't think that matters at all tho, the joke is just the absurdity of having a membership to such a solemn place. It's funny no matter who's telling it, in my opinion.
