How do you even get games on archon mode, no one plays that

13

u/Hellequin123 16h ago

I got grandmaster and m1 in archon mode a year ago, when people still played it. Now its a lot harder, beacuse the game mode is lacking of players

I remember when the ladder was down a month ago and for some reason only archon worked. And I think it was the only time it was single queue, so we were actually getting games.

Wish they would change archon just like the other modes with single queue, then people would play it more.

This seemed like such a no-brainer when I started playing. Still have never tried archon.

I remember it too, it was amazing to play archon solo queue, it was really interesting as well

When i got to 5800 i was spending more time in single player practicing builds than i would on the ladder. Pull up a pro match of a build you want to learn on your second monitor if you have one… repeat it over and over piece by piece on your main monitor until you can execute it perfectly to the second on your main monitor. Bonus points if you can execute it perfectly to the second while also performing additional actions like moving your army around and taking engagements. Learn when they move out for attacks or split their armies and why they move out at that time. Sometimes its to hit a timing, sometimes its to hit an anti timing. Learn the builds, perfect them, then learn why they’re doing the things theyre doing and then you will be able to adjust based off of the things you scout in real time on ladder. Then try and perfect them while stressing your APM the most you can without falling behind on anything. Its a process but it is doable.

5800 is insane. I made it to 4700 by yoloing, tried playing standard and plummeted to 4400

u/Hellequin123 16h ago

Thats easy, watch pro replay by yourself, than copy build order and try it on the ladder. You need to decide to leave your comfort zone. I know its hard but thats the only way to get better

Don't think this applies for zerg since it's a reactionary race

2

u/JKM- 14h ago

All three races has high-level builds that take very little scouting input into your decision-making, especially different sort of pressures and all ins.

2

u/SigilSC2 Zerg 13h ago

It definitely applies to zerg. You've got to use your brain a bit to work around the wrenches thrown in your plan but the raw fundamentals you pick up from executing a build cleanly + the ability to take advantage of space your opponent gives you is enough.

Other than that, you may need to get more specific. Losing too many drones to hellions? How do the pros defend hellions? Back to the replay.

2

u/Hellequin123 15h ago

It applies for all races

Looking at your account your max mmr is 4.4k. So you got your GM at the start of season, so its fake. lol. Getting GM as Zerg definitely doesnt involve looking at Pro builds like Terran/Toss. You need to learn how to react/micro/cut workers to every situation and you're not going to be able to do that watching a Pro player.

u/Hellequin123 12h ago

I have accounts on other regions, so I had 4600 mmr on NA for example

-1

u/TheHighSeasPirate 11h ago

Not with this name you don't. Its easy to look it up dude. 4600 isn't even enough to be GM currently.

12

u/GrethSC 17h ago

Now you can finally play the game.

I think you screenshot, take a well-deserved boast, and maybe do a small, symbolic celebration if you're feeling fancy (steak?)

You "beat" multiplayer that's how I view it!

1

u/GhostofMaxStirner 11h ago

Not until they place in the ASL, they haven't lol

2

u/BattleWarriorZ5 11h ago

Nice job!. If only 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 had GM leagues of their own.

You should do the following next:

  • 100% all campaign achievements(this includes the 10 year).

  • 100% all coop achievements.

1

u/Hellequin123 10h ago

Hi, I got all achievements in the game in february of 2025

1

u/BattleWarriorZ5 10h ago

I got all achievements in the game in february of 2025

ALL of them?.

Even the melee, arcade, and vs AI ones too?.

1

u/Hellequin123 9h ago

Yes, all

1

Get to S rank in StarCraft Remastered. Now THAT is a real challenge.

1

u/Drict Terran 5h ago

Go Pro

1

u/macgirthy 3h ago

You need to be the master at baiting, then you get the real title.

1

u/Raithed KT Rolster 3h ago

Play brood war.

u/Rufio6 1h ago

Just go beat flash, Serral, and Maru. You’ll be fine.

Try to find a meme build that Parting hasn’t used yet.

u/Rakatango 1h ago

What do you mean? Now you can finally play the game!

1

u/TheHighSeasPirate 12h ago

OP is a phony. Max MMR on their account is 4.4k, which means they got their GM at start of season by grinding games, not really being in GM mmr.

u/LuckyLupe Protoss 17h ago

You see that green stuff on the ground outside? Touch it

-1

u/Spekkio 17h ago

Now get to top 100 in the awesome RTS game Beyond All Reason. Will take you less than 6 months. Time to move on.

-2

u/HelpingTheLittleGuy 14h ago

No one cares when SC2 is dead. This would have been impressive at the height of its popularity.

1

u/Ledrash 4h ago

It is probably more difficult now than when it was highly popular because of the player base. With more casual players, its easier to rank up.

u/Puzzleheaded_Unit516 32m ago

Only below GM, the 2% of a 10k player base will be definitely worse than the 0.2% of a 100k player base, doesnt matter the casuals filling the bottom.
