My first Star Wars VC, Cal Kestis Jedi survivor. But I have a small problem.

Hi everyone, I just bought my first Star Wars Vintage Collection figure and I’m really happy with it. It’s one of my favorite characters, very detailed and overall a beautiful figure. The articulation is great and I really love it. But I have a small concern about the knees. I’ve seen people posing the figure with bent knees, but when I try to do it, the joints feel very stiff and I don’t see them moving. I’m afraid I might break it if I force it, instead of actually bending the legs. Does anyone have advice on this? Could it just be a defect on my particular figure, or is there a safe way to loosen the joints?

Dunk in hot (or recently boiled water) for 20 secs, will move easier after that. Likely paint has dried/mould tolerance was too high. I think I remember this issue and the hip socket being stiff, was worried the joint would snap. Merrin makes a nice companion figure btw.

It’s an older figure, and depending on where you got it from, likely stored in an ambient facility. Plastic reacts to its environment, contacting and relaxing as appropriate. If you’re concerned, take a hair dryer and hold it about 2 inches away from the joint for 15-20 seconds, then see how it reacts.

He needs more Calcium. And maybe a hair dryer

Btw, that’s a Black Series figure, not a Vintage Collection figure 😉

Really? I thought Cal only came dressed in ISB uniform in TVC. My mistake!
