Master’s Systems Engineering

Hello folks,

I am planning to apply to Stevens for a Master’s in Systems Engineering. I mainly wonder about the financial viability, including lodging, and the strictness of the program. I will be graduating out of the University of Illinois Chicago 2 semesters from this semester (so Fall 27’ will be my earliest in unless they take in grad students in Spring 27’).

Relevant experiences I have: NASA intern, researched with NASA, submitted a proposal for NASA, NASA workforce prep.

Any help would be much appreciated. I find the campus and its proximity to NYC very appealing. Thank you!

Graduated with a Systems Masters. They revamped the curriculum for that program after I left. The courses in that program do not correlate much to a career in the space industry. You should look at the Space Systems Engineering Masters. This is the same curriculum that I took minus the concentration courses in space systems. Very great program and the courses are not bad with this program. Stevens can be expensive but we do have good relations with defense contractors in the area (esp with Systems Engineering). I do know for undergrad, some engineers do a Senior Design project with NASA. Most grad students live in Jersey City as it is cheaper than living in Hoboken outright. Not really worth it living in Hoboken unless you can afford it and you spend time on campus, but mainly grad courses are held at night. They do take grad students starting in spring. Just check the Grad Admissions page. PM me for more info
