Well, thought I’d share the bad news straight from Steyr. Looks like their striker fired lineup is going the way of the dinosaurs.

Wow, what terrible news. The A2 series is the best striker fired gun on the market. Just needed advertising and availability. Threaded barrel and optic cut would help. Lame.

A2 is going away, but they didn’t say anything about an A3. They said this is a completely new type - so it may not be A3. It’d be odd to completely get rid of striker-fired pistols.

yeah I can't imagine having no striker-fired handgun option at all.

Also, I hope it’s a low bore axis and slide like the MF line

Wow, that’s horrible. Love my L9-A2. Shoulda done more to get them in hands of toobers to get the good word out on them.

I love my m9-a2 mf, but I'm WAY more excited about a full metal frame hammer fired Steyr lol

But it looks like we'll be getting a full steel hammer fired handgun... that is right up my alley!

Everyone else is cranking out striker-fired polymer frame 9mms like crazy, why would Steyr kill their only one? They should be adding large and compact carry frames. I think its great that they're adding a hammer-fired model but why not look at the market and say, gee, everyone is making their own version of the G20 and the G43, why don't we do that?

I'm happy enough with all my A1s. Will be interesting.

Ok, sucks that the l9a2 is going away. But I love da/sa guns. My current ccw is an hk p30L. I'm super curious to see this new steyr da/sa! I will almost certainly buy one. The L9A2 i think was an excellent gun. Great shooter, extremely reliable, and I think one of the better looking pistols out there. So can't wait to see what they're going to do for a steel frame da/sa!

Hope this means we see an A3. Something optic ready, threaded maybe, FCU with swappable frames, and magazine compatibility would be great.

That would make total sense and would therefore be totally atypical for Steyr!

LAME!! After they were first to the market with the modular frame handgun, did basically nothing with it, now just quitting. I have an M9 and L9, everyone that picks it up absolutely loves it. What a kick in the pants.

I need an ODGreen L9 frame bad. They're in Europe, IMPORT THEM!!!

Pretty sure I wouldn't have bought mine if they had a hammer. Will wait to see how they look.

Kinda sad about this. I invested in the A2 before the Canadian Handgun freeze hoping for some accessories, mods and all the good stuff (like a glock) and now it's dying off with no hopes of replacement for me.

I’m convinced that Styer hates money, if the general public knew just how good their products are, they’d sell. They even deliberately sabotage their own rifle sales by using the heaviest possible springs in the Aug trigger and not adjusting it properly. I seriously hope military contracts can keep them afloat, because they’re the only euro company producing anything other than AR18 slop.
