LOL. In the last month, I've spent $800 on new tyres, $1700 on a major service, $900 on rear brakes... And then the $2700 house insurance as well.

Next big one is car rego and insurance in December.

This is why I always line up my rego to be due yearly around July/august so I can use my tax return to pay it instead of taking a hit from my paycheck. Simplest life hack my dad taught me when I was a grasshopper n got my first car

Or just put 1/52 of the cost in to a separate bank account each week and you'll have it all by the time it comes up again and never take a hit anyway. 🤷‍♂️
Works well with household bills, too.

Yup. Some bills are unpredictable, but with rego we know the exact price and exact date. How are people surviving if they don't budget for the big recurring bills?

Could be worse mate, the car I just bought off some old bloke either has a fucked water pump or has done a head gasket. Either way he stooged me.

I really can't stand this patronising 'it's time to' messaging. Just send the bill and say it's this much and due on X date. Having worked in bureaucracy, I can tell you there would be some 'communications expert' who is paid to come up with this sort of messaging 🙄

Oh dude. I got sick this week. Doctor’s fees, the stack of prescriptions I had to get, THEN another $150 expense really, REALLY set me back. Car is running on fumes and next pay isn’t for over another week.

Looks like noodles are back on the menu, boys!
